Lebara SIM - WiFi calling

I applied for a Lebara SIM (a deal highlighted on a MSE posting which stated that the SIM "Supports Wi-Fi calling").  I transferred my number from my existing mobile network provider (who also use the Vodafone network and with whom I could do Wifi calling) to the new Lebara SIM but could not enable Wifi calling on my iPhone.  I contacted Lebara, firstly through their online chat facility.  I was asked to reset my phone but that did not succeed in enabling Wifi calling, at which point the operator said I need to take my phone to an Apple store but could not explain why (even though I explained that the day before I could make calls through Wifi the day before my number was switched to Lebara!).  I then called the Lebara centre.  I was told that "Wifi calling has not yet been launched" and that "I would be sent a text when it is launched".  I explained that it is wrong that Lebara are advertising that Wifi calling is available and asked when it will be launched.  The operator said they have not been given a launch date.  So now I am stuck with a Lebara SIM, without Wifi calling and I live in an area which has very poor mobile network signal!  Would not recommend Lebara.

  • Got wi-fi calling OK on this here Samsung A52s w/ a Lebara SIM.

No wi-fi calling on Moto G 5G Plus using Lebara, works fine w/ Three Data SIM.

So someone saying it doesn't work on Lebara is just wrong.

It's complicated, I know. But if someone could point me to a source to explain just why it works sometimes and not others I'd be grateful. Can even handle stuff that's a bit techie.

WiFi calling does work on Lebara. I joined Lebara in August using a Redmi Note 10 Pro and it has worked perfectly from day one. I know there are compatibility issues with some android handsets, but I thought all iPhones just worked.

I guess you've already tried, but maybe changing the settings and rebooting the phone in-between changes may encourage it to kick in?

    Some things to check:

    Settings/General//About
Scroll down to the SIM and check the Network and Network Provider profile are correct (if you see IMS status then tap on that to see Network Provider)
If the phone prompts you to update your settings then let it download the correct settings.

    Settings/Mobile Data/
Scroll down to the Lebara section and make sure it shows Wi-Fi Calling on. (If you see a Vodafone section rather than Lebara then make sure the option Network Selection shows Lebara)

There have been threads on here and hukd about Lebara and wifi calling- basically despite the advertising it works for some and not for others.

I am firmly in the second camp despite having a text from them months ago saying it had been enabled for me and my phone (Android) having the ability to turn it on within settings.

It just doesn't work and I have given up.

Lebara (actually all versions of Vodafone wificalling) seems to be completely random as to what it will work with, you don't need Android 12, it works perfectly well on my Android 10 OnePlus 7 Pro 5G.

To add to this, for the benefit of others seeking an answer - Lebara do not support WiFi Calling on all phones (even if Vodafone do them, it doesn't mean that lebara do as well). They confirmed to me that all Pixel range are not currently supported.
Best ask them in advance if it's important. They don't publish a list online
