Thanks again all. This morning first thing my wife and telephone the MCOL helpline. The person we spoke to said it may still show up in the claim history today as apparently the dept which receives and processes the emails are today dealing with business from yesterday, and the only thing they can do is make a note on file that the email was sent. Then, late morning, I sent a further email to CCBCAQ@Justice.gov.uk providing them with the details of the email yesterday, including technical proof I have of their email server having successfully received the mail at 3:15PM yesterday (the response from their email server indicating success, with an internal id, given by their email server to my email server on delivery), and asking them to urgently acknowledge they received the Defence. I did not attach the Defence to this in case they then logged it as having been filed today, as I want them to find and acknowledge the original.Lo and behold this time I immediately receive their standard acknowledgement (which I did not receive yesterday). I sent from the same email client, same From address, relaying through the same email server as yesterday. The only difference was yesterday my mail had an attachment.10 mins later I got a short reply from a human saying that the court has NOT received my defence and asking me to resend it.A few mins after that I sent a strongly worded reply and attaching the defence, asking them to make sure they log it against the case as having been received ON TIME YESTERDAY, reiterating I have proof it was received by their mail server.
I got a further automated ack to that but up to now I haven't received any further reply from a human and it is still not showing in the MCOL account claim history.

... oh and, in case anyone asks, no the missing ack from yesterday did not go in my Spam folder.

I never received a reply from CCBCAQ to the last email I sent them above. I've been monitoring the MCOL account and at some point yesterday it said it was "locked" and then this afternoon a new entry has appeared in the Claim History "Your defence was received on 07/12/2022".So good it is finally on file, but should I fight with them now to get that changed to show it was received on the deadline day the 5th or does it not matter anymore?

That's fine as long as it doesn't update again.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
