Company will not accept card payment (cash/BACS/cheque only). How to use Section 75

Hi, I'm new to this forum so hope that i am posting correctly and apologies if I have not seen previous threads on this topic. We are having a new heating system installed and the company have invoiced for the deposit and require payment by cash, BACS or cheque. They do not have a card machine and will not accept card payments. Is there any way round this to use my credit card in a different way to be covered by Section 75?
Many thanks for any advice.

Its a common question... no, you must directly pay the supplier with a credit card to benefit from S75. Any other mechanism like withdrawing cash or money transfer etc doesnt provide the protection.1

Pay a deposit and the balance when the job is complete.0

That scenario is quite common with small, and even not so small, companies and sole traders. If you want the safety net of using a card you will have to find a supplier who will accept them.

The OP says they're just paying a deposit.Flight3287462 said:Pay a deposit and the balance when the job is complete.0 -
Doesn't help when you put the heating system on 3 months later and find the boiler's diedFlight3287462 said:Pay a deposit and the balance when the job is complete.1 -
Hi OP
The answer is no as they don't have the capacity to take cc.
Therefore, go to another outfit if you want to afford the protection cc gives within their criteria.

You will have to pay by cash, but make sure you don't pay the full balance until you are happy it is working.Kels22 said:Hi, I'm new to this forum so hope that i am posting correctly and apologies if I have not seen previous threads on this topic. Before paying anything, do some research into this company. How long have they been trading? Reviews from happy customers? Financially stable? Business address given?Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
Are you certain that the OP has not already entered into a contract with the suppier? Saying "We are having a new heating system installed and the company have invoiced for the deposit..." suggests to me that a contract may already exist...diystarter7 said:Hi OP

The time to ask if they accept credit cards may have already passed.2 -

What, without paying a deposit etc? I very, very much doubt that hence the OP's question. It was clear to me I'm not sure why you have asked.
