To be blunt, IMHO I think you are pushing your luck.
Is it local, ie few mins walk/drive etc and are you happy there?
If the above is yes, think hard before asking.
where is it you work, ie town approx location
Thanks
I think I got confused and thought you was getting 15 pounds an hour.
To confirm is the same person paying you 12 or 15 quid an hour?
Many thanks in advance.
Really sorry, but the 2 jobs it's the same lady?
So you want a rise on the 12 quid I guessing, As you have been there 18 months - Say life is getting harder to feed and heat slef/family and you'd be grateful for a rise and see what she says 50p is good and over 70p and hour extra is excellent
However, please be aware they may start looking for new people to clean etc but IMO, ask in a way like it a polite request. If she refuses in a polite way/etc and also gives reasons - decide if you want to stay or go but if you are wanting to leave, find another job first
However, it is hard to build up trust so I guess she will pay you something extra as not want to lose you.
Once again, apols for not intially grasping fully your OP
Good luck.0 -

You are underselling yourself at £12 an hours, even in the wilds of Scotland you can’t get a cleaner for less than £15 per hour. Just tell her that from Ist January or whatever date you choose, your rates are whatever you choose.3

Good luck.
There is a reason behind this but if you can't say, I understand.
Thanks in advance0 -
Thanks,
We alsmost lived there, not all of it is super but a lot of it is.
Yes, defo go for the rise on the 12 quid but I'd leave the 15.
On blance as I post, what I said earlier - though she may be a bit miffed, she will be aware re rampant inflation and food prices being higher than the rate of inflation. Importantly, she will be aware of trust and there are so many crooks around and because she trusts you and is without a doubt happy, I'm quietly confident you will get at least 50p rise and possibly up to 100p an hour.
Good luck!0 -

I’m sure she won’t say no it’s just I don’t know how to word it as she is so posh and high up in her chain of work- I don’t want to make a fool of myself 😬I wouldn't worry about her being high up in her chain of work. The higher up she is, the more people she'll have had ask her for pay rises. It's just a business conversation - admittedly one that feels like it's high stakes, but it's still just a conversation. The being high up also makes it more likely she can _afford_ to pay you more. It's possible she'd be horrified to realise you were so worried about asking. Is the bank card in your name a secondary card on one of her accounts? If so, then either she's an idiot or she really trusts you. You don't say anything to suggest she's an idiot - so chances are she's going to want to keep you, and she's going to be receptive to the explanation that you kept your rates as low as you could for as long as you could but now you do have to put them up.(Edit: if you're comfortable doing so, you could always tell her that you charge your other clients more but as she's been such a good client you'll still give her a discount on your standard rates. If she asks how much the other people pay, and you're honest, there's an outside chance she'll go up to that figure.)
