Barclays only doing 'soft search' for current account?

I opened my first ever current account with Barclays just 10 days ago. No overdraft.

My Equifax and TransUnion credit files updated yesterday. TransUnion (Credit Karma) shows nothing from Barclays. On Equifax (ClearScore) I was surprised to find only a soft search from Barclays as "Barclays Digital" and the type "Search for Other".

Anyone else applied for Barclays account recently? Maybe they don't do a hard search if no overdraft is required? Or maybe it is because I already have Barclaycard? In that case it would mean they work the same way as Halifax/Lloyds who don't hard-search existing customers for new products, although Barclaycard is supposed to be a separate company so this doesn't seem like a good explanation to me. Still waiting for my Experian credit report, but I don't think they would do a hard search on one report and soft search on another.

I think they use Experian so wait for that to update. And remember the search can take a few weeks to show on the report you see.

I have nothing on my CreditKarma and a hard search on Experian for my recent Barclays current account application. No overdraft requested. I didn't check Equifax.

Barclays Bank use Experian to hard search for current Account applications.

Barclaycard use Equifax for credit card hard searches.

You will probably see a hard search on Experian when it updates.
