Morning. A quick post from me today as I have been called into the chippy to do a lunchtime shift as well as my evening one (although I'm not sure why as all yesterday I was being told how he is missing his A team and I'm just not quick enough). Yesterday was our busiest day by far apparently and it worked out that at lunchtime I served customers from the till to getting their food in around 3.5 minutes which I don't think is bad considering I had to wait for things to be cooked and there were several large orders included in that
Mot even going to make a list today as it will just consist of work

Morning all,
I am feeling shattered today from all the hours I have put in recently and the perimenopause doing its thing but I've still got another 9 days to go before I can hopefully get a day off. At least I should be able to add a fair bit to the OP pot this month and next just from my wages alone plus we have hubby's OT he is owed from last month due at the end of this month as well so that will be a huge amount hopefully
Luckily hubby has got a much shorter day today so that is always good even though I will be working whilst he is home. At least the puppy doggy will be happy to have some company tonight
It is also original chippy payday today so £175 will be heading into my pocket at the end of my shift tonight so that makes me very happy and almost worth the grief I get from my boss
I'm nearly on the red on my petrol gauge but I really don't have time to pop to Asda today to fill up so will hope that I can limp along until tomorrow at least (will have to try and drive more efficiently using MSE driving tips I think)I have done well as I seem to have spent all of this month so far driving people here, there and everywhere!
The bank balance is still in the black so fingers crossed I won't have to transfer any money from the savings back over. Dinners are sorted for a few more days so no need to go shopping for a while yet I hope
Here is my very little (but realistic) list for today:-- Play on Mistplay - DONE 52 points earnt thanks to a new game 50 point bonus
- Make open when cards envelopes and bunny pocket hug for website order and post off - made will post off on way to taking daughter to work today
- Set up custom listing for two bags of love on Etsy (from the enquiry the other day) - DONE only £7.90 order but every penny counts
- Make plantable hearts for Etsy order and post off - made will post at same time as other order on way to taking daughter
- Submit claims to Royal mail for two missing orders from two months ago I have only just been told about - DONE two claims submitted for total of £28.15
- Lunchtime chippy shift - DONE
- Evening chippy shift - DONE
- NSD - DONE

I am trying to make a little bit of time each day for me but am rewarding myself with two days off in a couple of weeks timeMortgage - £2338.07 paid off Feb 2023 BTL 1 £51,089.10 £35789.36 paid off July 2025 BTL 2 £81,504.52 BTL 3 £77,497.020 -
Afternoon everyone.
I'm much later today as hubby decided late last night that he was taking today off and as I am not in the new chippy until 4.30pm this afternoon we went out for an all you can eat breakfast at Brewers Fayre. It was delicious and I'm still full as I think I overindulged and ate my body weight! Since working at the chip shops I eat nowhere near as much as I used too which is good for my waistline and our bank balance
The good news was that our son ate for free so it was under £20 (£19.99) for the three of us to have a full english breakfast, cereal, toast, fruit and yogurt, pastries and muffins and about a gallon of fruit juice each which I don't think is bad value at all do you?
It was a lovely treat and I feel much more relaxed than I have done in a while. As mentioned above I am also making sure I have two whole days week commencing 27th August off so we can do something fun together again (before the kids go back to uni/college).
Good new on the job front too - hubby's work have come to an agreement with the search and rescue department of the same company he currently works for but was due to go over to in Jan meaning that he will be based here in Norwich for another year (at least) and the contract he has signed and agreement reached guarantees him a job after this point with them in Portsmouth so fingers crossed things will carry on long enough as they have been so far and we can easily get at least the first BTL mortgage cleared before the OT stops when he starts working away.
Right got to go to work soon so here's my little list for today:-- Play on Mistplay - DONE 91 points earnt today
- Submit barcodes and receipts to Shop and Scan as forgot yesterday was Saturday - DONE
- Submit breakfast onto food to go app for extra points - DONE
- Make little bags of love for Etsy order
- Make lucky gnomes for Etsy order
- Evening chippy shift - DONE

The first BTL fixed rate expires on 1st July 2025 so fingers crossed we will have saved enough/overpaid enough to be able to pay it off in full on this date (actually hoping to have enough saved to pay it off at the end of next year but won't be able to actually pay it in full until the fixed rate expires or else we will be hit by huge early payment penaltys)Mortgage - £2338.07 paid off Feb 2023 BTL 1 £51,089.10 £35789.36 paid off July 2025 BTL 2 £81,504.52 BTL 3 £77,497.021 -
Morning all.
I have a full 10 hour shift at the new chippy today - I'm feeling hot already (flipping perimenopause!!!) so not sure if I will be able to get through without melting!!!
The boss told me yesterday that if I quit my other chippy job and commit to at least 5 full days per week then he will up my hourly rate to £11 (60p an hour pay rise). I'm not sure I really want to keep up all the hours I am working at the moment though so will have to give it some serious consideration before making a decision. I'm hoping he can wait for an answer until September when I know what is happening with son and college days etc.
As I have this long shift ahead of me (starting in an hour and a half), here's my very little list for today:-- Play on Mistplay - DONE 2 points earned - better than nothing and nudging slowly towards being able to cash out a £10 voucher
- Make and post off little bags of love for Etsy order - DONE
(well I will post on way to work to save fuel)
- Pay in original chippy wages and transfer to OP savings account - DONE £175.50 transferred
- Use Tesco clubcard for things needed for chippy shift which I have said I will get on my way into work - DONE
- 10 hour chippy shift - DONE
