Question for buyers regarding flooring in the house

Looking for some opinions. Am doing up my house to sell. In the living room ( quite large about 5m x 4m ) at the moment there is dark blue carpet down. It's in good condition so would be fine to leave as is. However, under it is a solid oak parquet floor in pretty good, but not mint condition.
If you were looking at a house to buy, which would appeal more to you ? Trying to decide if it's worth uncovering and getting rid of the carpet

I know someone who sold a place with a beautifully restored parquet floor. Buyer covered it in carpet.
You don’t know what a potential buyer would want. Leave as is!4 -
I would leave the carpet as in the current climate carpet is a warner surface but I would let people know that there is an original parquet floor that could be esily renovated if they chose.7

I agree to leave the carpet, I was glad to have them when I moved in. As the bungalow is 1930's I had secretly hoped to find parquet - but unfortunately I found wet/dry rot and woodworm!£216 saved 24 October 20140

Flooring is such a personal thing. Leave as is and let the estate agent know to point it out when viewing.1

If you take it up and buyer wants a carpet, they'll be put off 'cos have to buy one.
If you leave it and buyer wants wood, they can just take up the carpet!2 -
Leave as is, but make clear what is underneath. If you have photos, even better.0

Leave the carpet but let people know what's under it.
The original carpet didn't put me off buying my home and I'd already made up my mind to start saving for engineered wood flooring.
Shortly after moving in I spotted a bit of laminate in a cupboard and took a peek under the carpet in a different part the room. The dark carpet and underlay was taken up revealing full, nicely fitted laminate, gave it a clean and still like it 2.5 years later; I've yet to do the great reveal in other rooms.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.0 -
We bought a bungalow some years ago. The carpet in the lounge had seen better days so we decided to take it up. We were stunned, there was a beautiful parquet floor underneath, in near perfect condition. We hired a polisher and titivated it a bit, little cost and little work.4
