It's nearly 21 years since we moved, but I can remember our removal van chaps were twitchy about moving just one item......our worm composter! It was perfectly enclosed & sanitary - they kept saying "Can't believe we're moving worms', "This is a first", etc. It was the 1st item they unloaded!

I'm still in that mindset - I'm still convinced that something will go wrong, even though right now there are NO indicators that it's likely!Cheery_Daff said:Exciting to see it all getting closer! Love that you're planning exactly where things will go in the kitchen. When we moved, so many things went wrong with the process that after an initial flush of enthusiasm, I refused to believe it would happen at all until exchange - and consequently had 9 days to buy a second car and figure out what on earth we were going to do with several acres of fields 😂😂
Haha Pennies we're only moving a quarter of a mile down the road - and MrEH will indeed be dispatched off to the chippy on the moving in day evening as that's a family tradition!foxgloves said:It's nearly 21 years since we moved, but I can remember our removal van chaps were twitchy about moving just one item......our worm composter! F(And that reminds me - I need to add a new compost bin to the Big River list - the current one is simply a large black plastic dustbin with the base cut out!).
Box delivery is booked for tomorrow so we'll really be able to get cracking then!

Does your council offer subsidised compost bins? Might be worth a look and see if you can save some cash."If you can dream it, you can do it". Walt Disney4

Ooh yes @jwil makes a good point, you said you're only moving a wee bit away but is it still the same council? Might be all sorts of new things you're entitled to if different. I spent years seething at a "new' council for not doing the free food waste pick-ups I assumed was standard practice, but they did do free garden waste collection 🤷♀️4
