on 18 September OP said he 'had booked' so the flights were already booked.

and on 19th   Yeah, we are travelling next weekend.

And I think the previous reported itinerary included Easyjet and KLM services.  This time around all RyanAir.

I think he booked new flights as that was cheaper than paying for name changing.

and did so again via Kiwi.com?
  • @AJRBADGER as you have separate booking references for each leg of the journey Ryanair do not have to refund the rest of the trip as the way you purchased the flights has resulted in single flights that( from Ryanair’s perspective)  are separate and unconnected.

What was the reason that the flight was cancelled ? You may be entitled to claim compensation which may offset some of your loss? This will depend however on the reason for the cancellation.

    that's why I don't fly with Ryanair
their refund is a waste of nerves
In fairness to Ryanair, they're one of the most stable airlines out there at the moment. On the one occasion I've needed a refund from them this year they offered 2 routes to a neighbouring country or a refund which came within about 5 days.

The issue is bringing unauthorised third parties who do not pass information to Ryanair such as Kiwi, meaning the contractual link between airline and consumer is lost.

If you're self-connecting however, you need to understand the risk of having no protection on separate PNRs from the outset. We're positioning tomorrow on a flight to Katowice with Ryanair to take a trip with another airline to my home country on the first wave of Saturday and will be returning from a neighbouring country (that I need to be in for work) to Vienna with Wizz and self-positioning back to Stansted in a few weeks with Ryanair. I fully understand that if there's a break in the chain with either carrier it's my problem to sort and claim through my insurer and decided that the £50 excess vs the £300+ additional cost of an official connection for 2 people was worth it.

  • This is an area in desperate need of some regulation. These unauthorised sites should be required to warn the customer about this issue, or even better should be required to refund all connected flights themselves.

If people choose to book with an overseas based seller then you take the gamble of an unregulated sale. Kiwi is a Czech business.

Kiwi do however mention about unconnected flights and also offer a protected solution to such eventualities as the OP reports.

Some people will however rush into purchasing decisions looking only at lowest cost as their only purchase criteria.

Also to give them credit, Ryanair have tried to do this through the Czech courts, this is heavily documented.

It is in breach of their terms and conditions in addition, not that Kiwi etc seem to care.

  • Straying a bit off topic - several years ago Billy Connolly did a tour of the Antipodes and was scheduled to fly on Kiwi airways at one point.
Then he discovered that Kiwis can't fly !!!
He milked that on stage !!!  :)
