Hi all, I submitted my appeal to POPLA on 13th of Feb and received the following email just now:
"The operator has contacted us and told us that they have withdrawn your appeal.
If you have already paid your parking charge, this is the reason your appeal will have been withdrawn. Unfortunately, you cannot pay your parking charge and appeal, which means that POPLA’s involvement in your appeal has ended. You will not be able to request a refund of the amount paid in order to resubmit your appeal to us.
If you have not paid your parking charge, the operator has reviewed your appeal and chosen to cancel the parking charge. As the operator has withdrawn your appeal, POPLA’s involvement has now ended and you do not need to take any further action."
It made me panic as I read it because I 100% didn't pay so going off the last paragraph, I guess ECP have cancelled the PCN?

The operator has contacted us and told us that they have withdrawn your appeal.I agree, that doesn't make sense (but at POPLA, often not a lot does!) as only you can withdraw your appeal. Bottom line, you've won, so very well done. That's the end of the matter 👍. Don't forget to come back for the DLUHC Consultation - drive the final nails into the coffin. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Okay phew good to know thank you, just needed a second opinion from someone with experience! I'm glad it's all done with, surprised they withdrew the PCN rather than letting POPLA give a verdict but I'm not complaining. Anyway thank you for all your help and yes I'll be sticking around for the consultationUmkomaas said:The operator has contacted us and told us that they have withdrawn your appeal.I agree, that doesn't make sense (but at POPLA, often not a lot does!) as only you can withdraw your appeal. That saves them having to pay PoPLA a fee - around £20 per appeal I believe.snores said:
