I read somewhere that from earlier 2022 companies that give special offers to new customers have offer same to existing customers. Does that apply to everything or was it just car insurance.

I was out of contract for my broadband with Virgin. I contacted them last week asking them to give me the offer they had on for special Friday but they refused. They said that offer was only open to new customers.

Doesn't apply to Virgin.

If you want the deal for new customers either haggle a bit harder, negotiate or find a better deal somewhere else to bounce off them.  Or (threaten to) leave.
