when I asked again if she was going to pay towards her loans, I missed a call from her, I text to ask what’s up and she replied she wanted to talk about the text and would talk to me face to face when I dropped the children off.
she’s been careful not to put anything in writing.
I suppose deep down I knew I wouldn’t get anything, but thought I’d ask here as I unable to afford a solicitor just to ask the question.
What a horrible situation to find yourself in. You could file a money claim online, the fee is £455 for claims from £5,000.01 to £10,000, over £10,000 and the fee is 5% of the claim. However, winning a judgement and enforcing a judgement are two separate things. The court might find in your favour as civil cases don't require the same burden of proof as criminal cases. Then you would need to try and extract the money from ex and she sounds like she is crap with money. In all likelihood she would down the route of a Debt Management Plan or insolvency meaning you get SFA back. This is one you may just need to chalk up to experience
