Live streaming and TV licence

Hi,

Could someone explain how would TV licencing know if someone without a licence watches live TV through apps like ITV hub or iplayer?

I don't think you can watch on either of them apps unless you sign in. I don't watch tv at all and don't have a licence, I like to read the news that way i get what I want instead of being force fed. When reading articles on BBC news there are often videos with them, to watch them you need to sign in so I don't watch them either

Generally, they don't.   They rely on catching people watching, or asking people and them confessing.

In the case of iPlayer, the BBC/TV Licensing undertake email address matching between "No Licence Needed" submissions and active BBC IDs used for viewing/downloading BBC TV content from iPlayer.   That's not robust evidence of evasion and is only used to trigger other enforcement activities.
