How do you close this early? Do you have to phone them?
Use the in-app chat. Tell the robot you want to close an account.
I've just done this, and it seemed to be successful.
The bot presented me with a list of accounts to choose the one I wanted to close from, but my Monthly Saver wasn't listed, so I selected "not listed" and it passed me to a real person, who went ahead and closed the account, plus two old Everyday Saver accounts I no longer needed.
The agent asked me to zero out the balances on all the accounts I wanted to close first, which I did (I assume this acts as a sanity check to make sure they don't close the wrong accounts). Closures will be actioned within 2 working days with accrued interest put into my Everyday Current Account.
All done and dusted within 5 minutes.

The in-app chat response seems to have improved dramatically since the last time I used it!

Edited to update - accounts disappeared from online banking and accrued interest deposited into my current account the following day, and letters received in the post confirming each account closure (in separate envelopes, which seemed a bit wasteful.)

I used the chat to close two accounts not so long ago and it worked seamlessly.
