Hi

I'm going to close my Sant regular saver since I'm only earning 2.75% and have their esaver. Will I receive the interest or does this only apply when closing to  open the newer issue?

I tried the online chat but ended up calling them. I don't know if this was a coincidence or not but I signed up to voice recognition and got through very quickly.

I closed my Halifax Instant Saver and they told me all interest to date will be lost

Yes I think Halifax are one of the exceptions.

Really? Given that so many of its accounts mature into an Instant Saver I find that hard to believe. What actually happened when you closed it? Or was it actually another type of account e.g., a fixed term account with an interest penalty for early closure? Whenever I've closed Halifax accounts early e.g., regular savers by converting them into instant access accounts (Instant Saver?) accrued interest has been paid.
