Great "last minute Christmas gifts" hunt

What's it about?

The Christmas clock is ticking; and as it’s getting very late to order online, now we’re left at the mercy of high high street prices.

What to do?

So I wanted to tap MoneySavers' ideas for the best last-minute bargain gifts; whatever your ideas please share them.

Please click reply to post your suggestions.

Go for ebay. I got several great price items now. I thought people might stop bidding now. So many items I won last night ended with very low price. Alternatively, you can find buy-it-now items. I have few favourite sellers who I can trust of the service and quality.

Find the reliable sellers who offer 1st class posting (last day of posting is 20th Dec) or Special delivery (could do until Saturday 22nd Dec - for delivery on Monday 24th Dec).

    HTH.

Boots are selling a lovely Ruby & Millie make-up gift set half price for £25 instead of £50. Its very expensive stuff to buy individually. I've bought one for my mum. It is also in the 3 for 2 gifts section so you might get a freebie as well as boots points.
Not been here in years! Hi everyone. Make £10 a day challenge = £78.45/155

My last few gifts that I need to get are lottery tickets and pear cider.
I bought some large jars of del monte fruit for £1 each from the pound shop and have emptied out the juice and instead filled with brandy for my grandparents.
Also I will now be starting to make any sweets or biscuits I plan on giving out as gifts too.

    Hope this helps someone?

  • John Lewis online shop are selling an IMAGINEXT Dinosaur for £14.95.

BUT the image they have on the site is that of a £29.95 MEGA T-Rex.

    Order online at:

    http://www.johnlewis.com/Toys/Fisher+Price/Fisher+Price/Fisher+Price/1607/230435770/Product.aspx?SearchTerm=imaginext

I took the small dinosaur they sent to me ( actually priced at £14.95 ) to a John Lewis store and got them to exchange it for the one that was actually being advertised online.

So I stuck to my guns and got a £29.95 MEGA T REX rather than the standard mini dinosaur. I got £15.00 OFF!

John Lewis fault for having the wrong image on their website. The site does say "breeds may vary" but at the emd of the day the image is that of an item worth £29.95 not £14.95

    Have fun!

I'm making christmas hampers for a couple of my relatives. The pre-filled ones are extremely expensive but you can buy empty hampers online for as little as £6 and fill them with goodies people actually like. If too late to get one online try the supermarket linen dept. Morrisons sell hamper boxes from £2.

To make it look special I'm going to spray on my own logo and posh it up with ribbons.

    Merry Christmas, Keith

Been having a great time using Jagua gel that after painting on looks like a real tattoo and lasts for a couple of weeks, found it for £3.99 with free P&P, which is much cheaper than its usual price of about £7-9 (inc P&)P

The site above is not for the faint hearted but is cheap
Warning look at the site if you have a sense of humour,
the 18 bit was a bit crude for my liking
