Utility Warehouse gas engineers?

Hi all,

Has anyone had an engineer visit to fit a new gas meter? They keep telling me they are in the process of switching to a new company but I'm finding hard to believe.

In February I called them as my gas smart meter hadn't given them a reading since October. They did some checks and decided the meter needed to be replaced and made a booking for June! I wasn't too happy but hey, at least it's going to get fixed.

A week before the appointment, someone called to cancel it and said they couldn't rebook at the moment and would get back to me. I've chased every month asking for it to be replaced, they've been using estimated readings for over a year now. Each time, I get a reply saying they're in the process of moving to a new gas engineer company and can't book anything in yet.

So I wanted to know if anyone else has had an engineer visit because this is really dragging along.

Luckily I live in a flat and don't use that much energy compared to alot of households so the bill isn't damaging my pocket, but still something I'm eager to get fixed.

Next step will be either citizens advice or the energy ombudsman I suppose.

Thanks

Michael

No need to put up with estimated readings.  Just send them a reading every month.  Make sure it's m3, not kWh.

It sounds like you need to make a formal complaint  to UW about how they have handled your problem. Customers can’t just go to OFGEM, the energy ombudsman.

Ofgem doesn't deal with individual complaints, it would be the energy ombudsman.
But it hardly seems worth it unless Mvbb has a disability that prevents him reading the meter easily.

I forgot to add, the meter doesnt give any readings whatsoever. Just shows a message saying 'pass thorough complete' which I believe it means it thinks it's linked to the electric meter to send the readings back. Pressing any combination of buttons on the meter does nothing
