Help, Boiler not working

Just come home to a cold house.
My 20 year old Ideal classic FF350 is not firing up.
Timer is ok, thermostat appear good, have tried hot water and heating stats and still same problem.
Boiler is on, there is power to it and a light on but it will not fire.
Manual says press reset button on side but this is solid.
Any ideas?

Sorry to ask the obvious question, but have you turned it off and then back on again?

theres quite a detailed fault finder on page 35 of the manual but i'm not sure how much of it you should be doing if your not a plumber yourself.

gas scares me so i'd be planning an early night and trying to get a plumber tomorrow. sorry i can't be more help but hopefully someone else can.

It's amazing how those with a can-do attitude and willingness to 'pitch in and work' get all the luck, isn't it?

I'm not familair with non combi boilers but is there a possibility water pressure is low. Years ago we came home from work and it was not warm. Noted water pressure was low and we topped up and it worked. There was a slow water leak not sure where and often toped up every few weeks until we got new heating and it worked until then
  • Possibly fan / air pressure switch related. Have you checked the fault finding on P35 ?

Also well worth downloading the Anton Sprint Mobile App which contains PDF manuals to virtually every boiler that exists (to access fault finding).

Sorry to state the obvious but please don’t go inside the boiler unless Gas Safe and competent.

give it a crack on the front of the case as if your winding a baby. It might just kick it back into life if the fan is sticking.
Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..

Just for the fan? Or does that include driving to your house, fault-finding, fitting the fan and general hourly rate, plus profit?
