Hopefully that’s the same here. If I receive a ticket saying I was at more speed, how can I prove the camera is faulty?
It's extremely unlikely that the camera was faulty, and if it was it would be spotted pretty quickly, given the number of false reports which would result on the UK's  busiest road. Probably another vehicle.
Incorrect setting is not uncommon. There was one near me that was set up wrong for years. Eventually one of that victims challenged it and the mistake was discovered. Years of false accusations that needed to be undone.

I've seen it first had as per my intial post here and fallend victim to it and others have told me as well.

And it takes a while to get it to stop/etc, see below 12000 vhecles flashed. It can be worrying indeed.

  • If so, what can I do if it says I was a speed I wasn’t?

You will have to decline any out-of-court offers (a course or a fixed penalty) that are made. You will then be prosecuted and you will have to plead Not Guilty in court. The police will produce evidence to show that you were detected exceeding the speed limit by an approved device operated in the correct manner. Such devices are assumed to be accurate unless the contrary can be proved so the burden will be on you to cast doubt on its reliability.

The OP would not be entitled to photos until they plead not guilty.

That's not quite correct. Before he enters his plea he is entitled to "The Initial Details of the Prosecution Case". This is basically the evidence the prosecution will rely on to convict him. If the photographs are part of that evidence he will be served with them as part of the IDPC.

Parked up in a layby having my lunch and a speed camera on the opposite side of the road flashed a lot in the
45 minutes or so that I was there.  A lot of the times nothing was anywhere near the camera.

There are at least 7,000 speed cameras in the UK. Very occasionally one is found faulty and gets massive media coverage.

I think “extremely unlikely” is a fair conclusion.

Fair enough. How about as per your post, "spotted fairly quickly." what after 12000 vehicles?

How about this as you said it is "extrely unlikely"

A polite pointer, I was not the only poster to question your comments.
    Thanks.

    Thanks for sharing.
  • So there might be chances the flash was for another camera? I would be surprised that I feel the flash so closely to me then

I was not close to any other vehicle so there is no doubt on which vehicle was flashed if it was my camera

A camera flashed on the other side of the A14 near Cambridge last Saturday. Was travelling back from a gig late and Google Maps took me on a different route to the one going.
I don’t think it was my vehicle but a bit unsettling as then you’re wondering for the next few days if you’ll get a fine.
