Good service there then - I'm sure you can leave some carefully worded appropriate 'positive' feedback

I'd just leave a negative in that circumstance.cymruchris said:Good service there then - I'm sure you can leave some carefully worded appropriate 'positive' feedback

I'm very conflicted because the item itself finally arrived and is actually great, really good quality - it's just the cheek of making eBay think it was dispatched so much sooner than it actually was!jon81uk said:

I use click and collect with Royal Mail - as soon as I create a label at home (have a home printer) it's marked as dispatched on Ebay, even though it's sitting on the desk in front of me. I imagine that it's the same with Evri - that once the label is paid for and created that's technically dispatched, even though it's not. There should be an extra status that says 'Label created awaiting dispatch' - and then move to 'dispatched' once it's scanned at the parcel shop - but that's probably too complicated. (i.e. they won't pay to fund the software changes as not enough people have whinged about it)Spoonie_Turtle said:

Yeah, it was just weird that it took them 2 days to do that, why not simply wait until closer to the time they were actually going to take it? Even if something had happened in the meantime, some communication would not have gone amiss.cymruchris said:

I don't want to be unreasonable and I know eBay's delivery estimates aren't always realistic but at the same time, posting an entire week after the order is a bit much.
*Just to clarify, I won't be leaving a negative, I'm torn between neutral and positive (because the item really is good).0 -
It's likely part of their seller performance statistics. By 'dispatching' on time - they get a decent rating (even if it sits on the desk for 3 days)Spoonie_Turtle said:

Do people actually pay attention to the delivery estimates when dealing with private sellers on Ebay? Generally I will send it ASAP but it can sometimes take a few days if I can't find the right things to pack it in, or can't get to the PO or whatever. Also if I book a collection then sometimes that collection is missed and it can take another day or two to reschedule.0

Delivery estimates are just that but a buyer can open a case for INR after the last estimated day of arrival. I’ve had several buyers over the years open a case literally the moment the clock ticks over onto the next day then it’s a race against time to get delivery confirmation before a seller is forced to refund. I’m also finding buyers less and less patient, they tend to be used to places like Amazon where they can have it in a day or 2 and won’t buy from a seller with too long a dispatch time. I always check the dispatch time myself when buying , I rarely want to buy from someone who says they post once a week or so.tightauldgit said:Do people actually pay attention to the delivery estimates when dealing with private sellers on Ebay? The dispatch date though is crucial if a seller wants to keep their account , I ship same or next day usually (strikes excluded ) but have a 2 day dispatch set just to cover days where I can’t get to the mail centre, or I don’t have time. Once those 2 days are up any items not dispatched will be marked down against a seller . I forgot to allow for the 2 day RM strike this week and ended up before I out my holiday settings on with 3 things that needed sending by yesterday . The o ly way to cover that was to print the labels last night (RM48) and send this morning, but that is really cheating the system and it does make it tight on the delivery estimates especially with more strikes next week.If you take a few days to send, just make sure you have your dispatch time set to cover that.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
