Is it still possible to pay for Special Delivery using stamps?

I recently bought a big load of mint condition stamps from a philately shop at a 15% discount to face value.
I now have a package to send by Special Delivery. Is it still possible to use stamps to pay for Special Delivery? I can't see why it wouldn't be, but I don't want to stick a dozen stamps on to my package only to have it refused at the Post Office counter -- hence my checking.

Yes it is, with a cooperative post office, because I did it this morning. I did pop in first though to check it was okay.
Although you wouldn’t want to be sticking stamps to your parcel because you need the special delivery bag first. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.1 -

I wasn't, however, planning on using a Special Delivery bag. Normally when I send SD items they just stick a label on my package like this. That's what I was envisaging happening this time too.0 -

Just make sure your PO will issue a SD tracking number, one of mine won’t, they just issue a standard receipt so it doesn’t get fully tracked.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Many POs will only print a "bulk barcode" receipt which has the correct tracking number but I am not sure if this is valid for compensation claims because it does not have the address and weight details. It's more difficult to obtain a proper SD receipt when stamps are used because it requires some specific options to be selected on the system that many staff don't know how to do. If done correctly, the receipt should show the value of the stamps as "PrePaid Amount" along with the address and weight details. As of the 1st of November 2022, the silver SD barcode stickers are no longer valid for Franking machine users, but they still work when used with stamps (for now).https://www.royalmail.com/sites/royalmail.com/files/2022-03/Royal-Mail-Meters-1D-Indicia-FAQs-March-2022.pdf
