Indeed. However to be more precise, the "next 1" tells you it has a single current sensing element and the last "2" indicates its a model with a 2A Auxiliary Relay.Deleted_User said:

Aclara SMETS1 meters were 13XX, SMETS2 are 14XX
The next 1 tells you single-phase and the 2 means with a contactor for off-peak.
The 1415- B has a single current sensing element, an in-built 100A "Secondary" contactor (for direct switching of such as off-peak loads like storage heating etc.) also NO 2A Auxiliary Relay.
Whereas the 1416-B has a single current sensing element, the 100A "Secondary" contactor AND the 2A Auxiliary Relay.
The 1422-B has 2 current sensing elements (it's still single phase), the 100A "Secondary" contactor and NO 2A Auxiliary Relay.
(I have the 1416-B).
Meters with a 100A "Secondary" contactor are often referred to a 5 Terminal/Pole meters and this contactor(relay) is often referred to as the ALCS.
(Note - OVO's guide for these meters where it mentions the model numbers, the first paragraphs in C & D are slightly misleading if you read Aclara's manual).2 -
I have an Aclara SMETS 2 and I am with Octopus but live SE Wales. I also had problems with it sending data; Octopus Smart Meters Team have been great and getting it sorted over several months. They fed back to me that there was a tricky problem with this meter (firmware, software?). Currently it communicates.
I have Bright which tells me if it is communicating or not.0 -
Don't forget the Bright App doesn't get data in real-time and they do do a catch-up if they haven't got all the data up-to-date, but sometimes I've noticed that's been a bit more than 24 hrs, other times it's very quick. The first little i symbol on the Electricity information on the Home page tells you when the data was last updated.
A bit of promotional blurb about the Aclara SGM1400 range of smart meters
I get the impression that they're a bit more complex to programme/set-up than some others, but I'm no expert in this area.
Sometimes I've wondered if EDF have any experts on these either!0 -
They may well do - but it won't be the people answering the phones.Phones4Chris said:

I wasn't referring to those that answer phones.[Deleted User] said:

Thanks for the clear explanation Dolor! Doesn't sound like there is much I can do to improve the situation however. Thanks again.0

It is worth checking with your neighbours to see if they have a connection. If someone dies, then talk to your supplier about whether it is possible for them to establish a MESH. The concept being that your meter ‘jumps’ across the mesh until it finds a meter that has a connection to the DCC network. Clearly, for this to work there needs to be a number of meters in a given location. I confess that I have no idea how this is set up.Irnblu said:Thanks for the clear explanation Dolor!
