Keeping Google on my Huawei

Options
Hi. My 2 Yr contract on my Huawei android is ending soon. If I keep the phone, and change to a SIM only deal with another company, will I keep/lose the Google services?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

If by Google services you mean Search, Chrome, GMail etc. you will keep those - you aren't paying anything for them to the airtime provider.
  • No, you should not lose them.
They are linked to your phone and not the S.I.M. as far as I know.
I have changed providers more than once with the same mobile phone and nothing changes except the provider.
  • Hi. Thanx both for taking the time to reply. It's nice know that I can keep the Huawei phone, change provider, yet retain the Google services.

The Huawei thing only affects devices released after a point in May 2019.  So if your phone is older than that it's fine.
Obviously if you buy a new Huawei it won't have the Google services but I dare say alternative apps would be available to do those jobs.  At the end of the day they are still Android devices (Android is open source, not owned by Google by mostly powered by them).
