EDF DDWA(M) in credit after bill, what happens next ?

As I have been away my usage was less than the £66 government support and according to the bill they owe me money.
Will it be paid back to me or remain as a credit ?
The bill does not say what will happen.
Not really bothered but I am not sure EDF have even considered this scenario.

I'm the same - when I log into my account my balance shows it remaining as credit.0

Hi,have you checked your bank statement?0

The bill was only produced yesterday and my usual DD date is around the 3rd of the following month so I will have to wait until then to see what happens, frugalmacdugal said:Hi,have you checked your bank statement?
The bill always states the next DD date but on this one there is no indication they will refund the credit even when it says "we owe you £32.03"0 -
A common problem with households that have low Electricity use.I monitor the bills of two others as well as my own, both of which have built up serious credit balances in Oct & Nov, which will keep on growing till April 2023Unless the suppliers insist on returning the money, my advice to them is to leave well alone. as it's highly likely prices will increase in April and there will be little or no Govt.subsidies, so a large credit balance will go some way to reducing the higher D/Debit.payments that will be demanded..0

Live chat is open. I was connected just now within 1 minute.0

@dogshome please read my title.
I pay by Direct Debit Whole Amount (Monthly) so my DD will never be increased or reduced, therefore I never have a credit balance at all in normal times.
With this payment method with EDF apply the £66/67 to the account and there is no indication on their website what happens in my situation where the bill is less than the "help".
@rothesy, not sure Live Chat will understand this peculiar situation, it's unlikely to be in their script from past experience.0 -
I expect it would remain as credit and reduce the next bill, although that might just delay the question.1

If your monthly use remains below £66 the credit will continue to build up until the £66 payments end in March, then your subsequent bills will begin to reduce the balance you have accrued.Until the balance has been used, there should be no DD payment taken. They will not refund the balance as they are obliged to keep it for use against your energy bills.1

If the account is in credit then the £66 wont go towards your EDF bill it will refund to your bank account that the DD comes from.
As your DD will keep you in credit from the same account.
Your EDF online statement/info will indicate a £66 credit and a £66 refund if so which takes up to 5 days to arrive .
Just happened in my case on my second £66 payment so is factual .
My first £66 payment went towards the bill but the account was only £8 in credit so they may have a set in credit figure before the refund to your bank takes place .

That IS the case with regular fixed DDs, however DDWA(M) is a whole different kettle of fish !TOP_CAT said:If the account is in credit then the £66 wont go towards your EDF bill it will refund to your bank account that the DD comes from.

My account is NEVER in credit under that payment method, you are getting confused.
The £66 has already been allocated to my bill.0
