So, further update from today. PALS phoned me and although the lady on the phone was very nice, she said that they don't deal with the car park and that they couldn't really help, although she sympathised with the situation. I said that there must be someone in the hospital who deals with the parking company. She said she would contact security, and as I was concerned that that would be the last I'd hear from PALS, she agreed that she would follow it up with security, gave me her name, and said either security or herself would contact me.  She indicated that her friend had got a ticket and that's who she forwarded it to. I can imagine for friends of employees they can get it sorted!

My Mum received a further letter from Debt Recover Plus today saying that she has until 12th December to pay, otherwise they would be passing it back to their client for court proceedings. :(

If your mum is scared of the letters -and if you'd be the stronger/better person to open them and laugh at each one - get her to change her service address to yours (she emails and tells them 'my new postal address is..... and you/your clients must now erase my old address').

Escalate the complaint to the CEO of the Hospital Trust next (Google for their name).  I've done that before and it's worked.

Thanks, I will keep that in mind re the letters. I think atm she is just fed up.

I’ve sent a letter to the CEO of the trust. I think that’s why I got the call as it was a different hospital than the one I emailed PALS at and the one where I addressed the letter to CEO.

I think next I will raise a formal complaint. It’s ludicrous that they don’t seem to have any responsibility for parking.

Whether it seems like it or not, they do have responsibility for parking.

    Here it is once more...

    They have responsibilities.

Have a look at these few words from NHS car parking guidance 2022 for NHS trusts and NHS foundation trusts...

Thank you, yes, I cited that in all of my emails and the letter to CEO. Seems like the PALS rep was not aware of that.

I will raise it again if I hear back from her and also in my formal complaint letter.

Yes, I've done that too. Waiting to hear back from her.
  • Hello,

Just wanted to update this thread. I finally heard back from PALS today saying that they have managed to cancel the ticket. That's such a big relief and I would like to thank everyone who gave advice on this and to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

    Very good news!

Now get your revenge and join us to change the law, to stop this happening in future.

Are you ready for the upcoming Public Consultation about the level of parking charges and banning the false DRA fee enhancement?

Likely to be in January according to the timeline published by the BPA.

    Stick around.

You just need to read the most recent updates on the Announcement thread by MSE_JC about the appeals guide.  Those later responses explain it.

No link, go find it at the top of this board.

Then bookmark that thread and set email alerts.

This is motorists ONLY chance to change the law and the Government will want to hear from you.

  • This sounds exactly what happened to me and another work colleague.  We both appealed - heard nothing then was hit with a Pay Now Notice from DRP.  How can they keep getting away with this?
