AXS ticket resale price

I bought 2 tickets from Ticketmaster for Florence and the Machine at the O2 this Saturday which I want to resell
It seems I have to do this through AXS but on their resale site they are valuing the tickets at £65 max which is half of what I paid for them
When I contacted them they said their prices are different from Ticketmaster prices but I can't believe they are half the price!
I have the tickets on the 02 app which won't allow me to take a screenshot to try to sell them elsewhere
This feels like a rip-off to me

It's not a rip-off. When you bought the tickets you will have agreed that any resale must be through AXS. Their business model will be to profit from your decision to sell, and to make sure you don't profit from it (which would be touting). Presumably they'll sell them to someone else at face value and make a margin on what they paid you for them. Seems perfectly reasonable to me.annefreeman20 said:I bought 2 tickets from Ticketmaster for Florence and the Machine at the O2 this Saturday which I want to resell

I'm all for this.Whenever i've purchased tickets, they have usually offered some kind of additional insurance for a small fee which will refund the face value and put the tickets back into circulation. The more companies do to stop ticket touts, the better.4

I wasn't going to make a profit, I just want to get back what I paid for them!
I thought Ticketmaster were selling the tickets, not AXS0 -

I thought Ticketmaster were selling the tickets, not AXSAXS is the offical ticketing site for the O2. Seems they want to rule out any potential touts to their venue. (Not saying you are one).Ticketmaster offer insurance via Allianz for this type of scenerio. Seems like 50% of the price will be better then 100% of zero.2 -
Why should you? You bought tickets a while ago, and now want to sell them three days before the event. They're not necessarily worth face value any more because there's no guarantee someone else would buy them this close to the event. AXS are taking on that risk, and their premium for doing so is 50%. That may seem steep, but given that you aren't allowed to resell them yourself and that you're unable or unwilling to go, it seems better than writing the whole sum off.annefreeman20 said:I wasn't going to make a profit, I just want to get back what I paid for them!2 -
If you bought them on Saturday and then want to get back what you paid for them 4 days later, why did you buy them in the first place?annefreeman20 said:I wasn't going to make a profit, I just want to get back what I paid for them!

I can understand buying a ticket and changing your mind months later, but it sounds more like you were trying to flip them, and are now unhappy that the company has played you at your own game.0 -
I think the gig is this Saturday, and she bought them an unspecified time ago.jonesey1985 said:

Thank you...I bought them in March and fully intended to go, but a combination of family issues, health etc mean that I hoped to sell them for what I paid
And FYI I did take out insurance but the circumstances are not dire enough to be able to claim0 -
