grumpyoldwoman said:Yes, I had the same problem a couple of times. I haven't made a payment for a month or so though so don't know if it's still like that. I'll update next time I try to make a payment which should be in a couple of weeks.0

I concur with grumpyoldwoman. I was adjusting 3 standing orders on my accounts and it took nearly an hour. The app kept on saying that there was no contact with Virgin Money and closing. Trying to input the amount was so frustrating and then the letters from the password was so slow.Obviously need to bin these accounts as it is just soooooooooo slow. Then it dosen't update the future payments in real time and need to check in the app or online the folowing day. Look at the fiasco with the ISAs.0

Aaaaaarrrggggghhhhhhh.......so it isn't just me that is frustrated with VM at moment
Have banked online with them for years.
I wanted to move an amount of money at end of last month that was higher than online banking daily limit. Despite not being keen on using banking apps (Zopa aside, it's a doddle), I downloaded and installed the VM app on my ancient tablet.
It was an awful interface and extremely glitchy, especially with input lag. Thinking it was my ancient tablet (and low memory space, so little room for apps anyhow), I uninstalled it.
Despite no obvious warnings on the VM website (that I could see), it seems once you have downloaded and logged in on the app, you can't easily go back to online only with an OTP, as trying to log in online asks you to verify via the app.
Unfortunately I then wanted to open an ISA in early November, and the only way I could get logged in online was by downloading the app again. Did this, approved my online log in and then deleted the app (I really don't have much free space for apps, especially awful ones). Ironically, as I had the app open anyhow I thought I may as well just apply for the ISA whilst on it, but it can't be done on the app.
Upshot is, I have now been trying to get their customer services (and now complaints), to put me back onto online banking with OTP for about a month and still no joy. In fact, I wanted to access my account online this evening and after inserting my customer number and three characters from my online password, now it doesn't even ask me to verify via the app (which, reluctantly, I was going to temporarily install again), now it just says "you can't continue online" then "try again later".
Not sure if I should be hopeful the latest message means they are addressing the problem for me and working to get me back to an online only log in with OTP, or if things are even more messed up. Sadly, given their track record at present, I suspect the latter.

Just tried making a transfer between two of my Virgin accounts and the app seems to have sped up enormously all of a sudden.0

The almost instant ability to input the amount of money to be transferred became evident on the 1st of January. I paid my Coventry FHS on New Years Day without any delay in inputing the amount. There's still a delay in listing the Standing Orders.

Had a very similar problem, flagged it up to Virgin Money on the phone and they released an update a few weeks ago, seems to be fixed for me know.0
