Virgin app lag problem

Hi,
Earlier this year (several months ago, can't remember exactly), Virgin updated their payment interface on the app to something a lot worse and slow than they originally had. This included adding a bunch of extra prompts and lag to make the process as cumbersome as possible.
By
far most annoying issue they introduced is when trying to type in
payment amounts. Every single input i make results in a 5 second lag,
making it a horrendous chore to do so accurately.
At this point i'm confused by why something this blatant hasn't yet been fixed. I'm certainly not alone in experiencing these issues, as i've looked through the playstore feedback and seen this exact complaint mentioned so many times. I've also messaged Virgin about it and their response was they're aware of it, but it doesn't apply to all customers and hopefully it will be fixed.
I've gotten pretty sick of dealing with it by now, so i'll likely ditch the account soon. But I want to get a better idea of how widespread the issue is.
To those with this app, does this problem apply to you also?

Yes, I had the same problem a couple of times. I haven't made a payment for a month or so though so don't know if it's still like that. I'll update next time I try to make a payment which should be in a couple of weeks.0

Yes, I have this problem too. If I type the amount too fast it's never correct. Very laggy, I thought it was just my phone. Glad to know otherwise.0

The Virgin Money app has now become useless for making payments. I have now started to use the web site to carry out all payments. There is no lag online. The online system is so much better than the app and updates or new standing orders are much easier and are listed straight away. Of course you need to use the app to confirm the online login.Using the online system is smoother, less error prone, and visually more pleasing. That said, I only use online banking with Virgin and building societies. All other banking operations are made using Android apps.0

I've found it isn't too bad when trying to get into internet banking though. If you log into the app after the login authentication request is sent it lets you log in very quickly.0

I agree with the comments above about the app's dreadfully slow response. In practice, I prefer to make payments via Internet Banking anyway, so that's not the end of the world for me.The really weird thing about the Virgin phone app (well, the Android version, anyway) is that I can't find a Logout button anywhere. Is it just me, or does it really not exist? If there is one, please tell me where to find it. The only way I've found to get the app closed down is to tap the Home button on my phone and then use "close all". I don't find this terribly satisfactory.0

There is a log out option, click MORE at the bottom of the screen, then scroll down to LOGIN, ACCESS AND SECURITY, and it's at the bottom of that page. You can set it to log out immediately you exit the app too so no need to log out manually.1

Is there a way to login in online banking without the virgin money app?

You can also order a security token, which is similar to the HSBC secure key. That will let you log into online banking and verify payments etc. I used to use one when I had my first Virgin current account and it's a heck of a lot easier than using the app. Whether they would let you order a security token when you already have the app is a different matter. I imagine they would if you uninstalled the app and then rang them and said you'd broken your phone and were going to get a flip-phone as a replacement.1
