Skipton Building Society - Application process etc

What is everyone’s experience of opening an online account with Skipton? Is it straightforward with online identity checks or do they need paperwork posted to them?
I’m looking at opening and transferring my cash ISA over to them.

It may depend on what information you are able to provide online (NI number, passport details, etc).
Why not fill out an application online and find out? It shouldn't take too long.0 -
I can provide all that information but some banks still insist on requiring copies of identification documents. I’d rather not go through the hassle of applying if it’s not straightforward.lohr500 said:It may depend on what information you are able to provide online (NI number, passport details, etc).

Some banks seem to be worse than others.“Hardware: The parts of a computer system that can be thrown out of the nearest window!”1 -
In the time you have taken to ask the question on several posts and reply to answers, you could have filled in an online application and found out if additional documentation was needed !!!0

Not really. I’d rather do some research into what I’m signing up to first.lohr500 said:In the time you have taken to ask the question on several posts and reply to answers, you could have filled in an online application and found out if additional documentation was needed !!!
If the general consensus was that the application process isn’t straightforward then I’d have saved myself a lot of hassle. I’d rather not give out my personal information if I wasn’t going to be a customer - I wouldn’t have bothered sending documents through the post.
My post wasn’t purely about the sign up process anyway, it was to hear other people’s experiences of them!

However these days you have to be quick and you're now too late as the online version has been withdrawn.XDA said:
