Seems strange that they're doing two different things? But I may have read it wrong.  As others have said,  they're not easy to understand!

Maybe it depends on how you pay. EDF do have a poor billing system, not helped by the fact that they only bill every six months for people on fixed DD payments. The OP has had their account credited by two amounts of £66. Maybe they’ve also had their DD reduced by £66 or £67.

Yes maybe..... I do agree about the 6 month billing,  I've just switched to full amount monthly,  luckily we're able to do that and it's made me feel much better, knowing where we are with what we're using.  I know others are really good at working out their own figures,  not me so much!

I thought EDF were not refunding the amounts to customers banks for Direct Debt Whole Amount, just crediting your account on the first week of the month instead. Effectively taking that amount away from your bill when they collect your variable DD later in that month? 

I'm sure you're correct - I've literally just gone over to whole amount.  The first two payments we've had I was on fixed DD. Thanks for the head's up for next month.

I see in your post you say there is a calculation converting meter cube to kWh, that tells me you have used gas. You may not know as I didn't, if you don't use any heating or hot water for washing up or shower you wouldn't expect to use any gas, simple. Unless you have a boiler like I have with pre-heat that fires the boiler up energy 90 minutes, thats a cost I calculate at £24 per month I can't switch off, some can.

I see it as paying 3 to 4 times less in the summer which I can spend on a holiday and my annual car service/repairs/VED which all fall due in June/July.  Glass half full or half empty are just two ways of seeing the same thing.
