How to check bundle allowance on RWG?

Hi,
I'm having trouble finding out how many mins etc I have left from my bundle. I have the free £15 bundle, so according to the website I need to text: info ukrwg1 to 669. When I do that, I get a message back that simply says: remaining. There's nothing else, just the one word so I have no idea what I'm doing wrong. Am I sending the message in the wrong format? I really can't work out why it's not telling me what I have left. RWG confirmed I have a bundle active and when I send a text etc my balance doesn't change so it is coming out of the allowance. I just want to be able to check what I have left... Thanks.

  • I have the £15 free bundle also. Iv just sent info ukrwg1 to 669,and it gives me remaining mins texts and data.
Try sending a text  info ukrwg0  to 669,that is the £5 free bundle code, see if you get a response off that. It should say you have no matching bundle.
Id email them monday at support@rwgmobile.com

    Do not use support@rwgmobile.wales
As they dont respond to that as quickly,if at all
  • @alanjones60 I emailed RWG about the problem a few weeks ago, they told me to restart my phone. That made no difference, I emailed them again to tell them that and they never responded to that email so I emailed them again about a week later but no response either. I have no idea why it's not working for me, as others don't seem to have an issue with it. Why can't they just add the remaining balance to the online account or have an automated phone number to call to get balance like every other provider?
Btw, sending info ukrgw0 does say no bundle.
  • Sorry im at a loss with a solution. Perhaps you could try the sim in another phone? What phone are you using now?
    Mines a samsung s 20

Just out of interest is that on the push notification? Do you have the option to save, and if so does that make any difference if you save and then try to open the message?

To the best of my understanding the balance and allowance texts go to nowmobile rather than rwg, so it may be worth looking around forums.

Probably worth searching to see if anyone is using the same phone model as you and what version of messages you use.  You could try to update your sms message app. Are you using apple, android, or even Windows phone?

Hi and thanks for your replies.
I'm using Samsung Galaxy Fame, model GT-S6810P, android 4.1.2.
The reply from RWG arrives as a class 0 message, saying 'remaining' and 'From: now', it gives me option to 'cancel' or 'save'. Cancel makes it disappear, save makes it appear as a normal reply in text messages but only stating 'remaining'. I'm using the messaging feature that came with the phone (so no 3rd party apps etc).
There are no updates available for the android or the messaging app. I don't have any other phones to try the sim in (well, I have an old non-smart phone but it's locked to a different network so of no use for this purpose).

Without being an expert, android 4 does sound quite dated. That said my daughter has a moto g which is about the same spec and that does work, but might be android 5.  Maybe the phone can just about cope with the instant notification "you have no matching bundles" but not anything longer. The non smartphone might work, I am sure some rwg customers are using very basic phones. Will try my old phone later.

This seems to suggest they are not supported in android v4, only v5 or later.

Had a search on play store for a 3rd party sms client app (that would replace messages for texting) but most require android 5. A few at the bottom of the list say android 4.4 but nothing for android 4.1.
One worth trying is messenger:texting app, another messenger: text messages sms, both are a white speech bubble on green background.

Just checked. My daughter's moto g runs android 5.1 and messaging 5.1-2 and it works fine. Don't know if you can upgrade your versions to that.
Tried my sim in my aeg dumb phone and once I remembered how to text i got it to work, sort of.  The notification flashed up but as 2 pages, and the second page just said remaining. But there was time to read and hit save, and each page saved as a separate message.
When you see remaining is there anyway you can scroll up a page?

This link might be useful, sms apps many of them will run on android 4.1, if that release is still around. Article is from 2021.
