If the "DFS Volume" is how much they're hoping we cut down by, then the numbers are slightly higher than the last test event on 21 Feb.

Someone said earlier in this thread that Octopus are trialling late/last minute notice at different intervals to see how a late notice emergency event might work.

That would explain the situation most are talking about above.

I'm sick of looking at laundry, so it'll get done today between 1430-1730, along with some oven cooking.
Hopefully we/I get to opt in at some point, but if not, then laundry etc got done anyway.

Octopus FAQs state: "You'll get an invitation to opt in to every Saving Session. They'll be sent with as much notice as possible – ideally the day before.", so they've made a lie of that!

Other companies allow you to participate in DFS events, even if you're an Octopus customer.  For example: Utrack Money Back (uswitch.com)

It looks like other companies may actually provide a larger cash reward, i.e. the full £3 per kwh paid by the the ESO, compared with Octopus who generally only pay £2.25 per kwh (i.e. 1800 Octopoints at 8 points to the penny).

It's all seeming a bit strange, with only some people being given a heads up about the possibility of a session, and no opt-in as yet. It normally takes them a few hours to complete the opt-in mailshot, so this seems to be cutting it very fine.
