Octopus Saving Session

What a bizarre way to test different notice periods, by sending an email with the same notice as normal (even if it is pretending it may or may not happen it's still giving notice)As part of our testing in this project, we'd like to find out how readily people can get involved in a Saving Session with different amounts of notice. We suspect there might be a Session tomorrow. If there is, we'll only open opt-in's on the day. But we thought we'd give you a little pre-warning that there might be one coming up!
Keep your eyes peeled tomorrow, and get ready for a possible Session...
Thanks,

Thanks,
Although I for one, haven't even had that email, so if it weren't for this thread, I'd still have no clue.So long as you can opt in, before the start of the in day adjustment period.0 -
No email l for me either. App still telling me to Stay Tuned..0

I have had an email from BG confirming a Peak Save session tomorrow and need to confirm by midnight if I want to join in (which I've done of course). Its £3 per kwH (doubled up to £6 by BG). They're forecasting £0.54 for me lol.0

Interesting, does anyone know if BG respect the IDA period or are they following Eon and making their own rules? At £6 per kWh that presents an opportunity for people to make some silly amounts of money should they choose to fully abuse the system, £50-100 would probably be a pretty achievable target for many on the one session at those rates.Shedman said:I have had an email from BG confirming a Peak Save session tomorrow and need to confirm by midnight if I want to join in (which I've done of course). Your assumption is correct. No change AFAIK since Eon Next binned in-day adjustment used in the reward calculation for the February events.ellie99 said:I've received an invite from Eon Next to take part tomorrow, telling me I could earn around £0.19. Wow, do they really think that's enough to encourage people to take part?
After the last time I did it, when I earned 98p instead of the £17 I expected, I'm assuming that Eon next are still doing their calculations in a different way to Octopus? Does anyone know if that's the case?1 -
Supposing it does go ahead, at 18:30-19:30 as suggested, do I have this correct .. I benefit from shifting high power activities to 13:30-17:30 (or is it 14:30-17:30?) And by reducing consumption 18:30-19:30.
What about 17:30-18:30, does consumption at that time make any difference either way?

They have had their £3 offers accepted and offers for £4 and £6 rejected. I guess the delays are either due to them being caught on the hop with two in a row, or they may not have sufficient bid to cover everyone. It would be possible to work that out by diving in to the data but I don't have time to. I guess you will know before long.badger09 said:
Still nothing from Octopus. Does that mean they weren’t successful in their bid?badger09 said:No email l for me either. App still telling me to Stay Tuned..
And that my washing will have to wait a while longer?🤔1 -
If it goes ahead 18.30-19.30, then aim for high consumption 14.30-17.30, next hour makes no difference. Obviously use as little as possible for the Session hour.Barnsley, South Yorkshire
