Can you claim for a delayed flight even though you made the connection?
Was recently on a flight from London - Doha that was delayed by over 3hrs as their was a technical problem with the plane. I still made my connection in Doha (just), but couple of questions about the claim i submitted:
1 - Can you claim for 3hrs delay? Some claim for longhaul (over 3500km) it has to be delayed by 4hrs, but https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/travel/flight-delays/ says 3+ you can claim
2 - If i made my connection can i still claim? Im not sure if because the first leg was delayed i can claim, or its when you arrive at your final destination

Although the regulations don't directly grant compensation rights for delayed flights, various court judgments clarified that a long delay is to be treated in the same way as a cancellation, with the most frequently cited one being the 2009 Sturgeon case, in which it's clear that the measure is to the final destination rather than an intermediate one:
Articles 5, 6 and 7 of Regulation No 261/2004 must be interpreted as meaning that passengers whose flights are delayed may be treated, for the purposes of the application of the right to compensation, as passengers whose flights are cancelled and they may thus rely on the right to compensation laid down in Article 7 of the regulation where they suffer, on account of a flight delay, a loss of time equal to or in excess of three hours, that is, where they reach their final destination three hours or more after the arrival time originally scheduled by the air carrier.

Presumably your ticket was LON-DOH-XXX.
It's what time you got to XXX that matters, you say you made your connection so surely you arrived at XXX as scheduled?0 -
Yes was Kathmandu the final destination. Wasnt sure if it included any delays at the intermediate airport, which seems it doesnt. Thanks

BA approved my claim. Was surprised after what was said on here. £260
So seems even if you make your connection you can claim0 -
Was the whole journey booked on one through ticket?0
