With regard to the Satnav issue both my partner and I took our driving tests before these were introduced and also the theory tests, so this isn't relevant. Furthermore, yes, amazingly you can navigate without a Satnav. My partner has developed incredible skills to get to places without them. Living in a world with severe dyslexia, especially with ever more technology, is challenging and takes courage, resourcefulness and determination.1

So, I've now had a response back from Essex Police. They took my concerns seriously and have advised that I can fill in the forms on his behalf, with him signing them. They requested the reference number to make a note on the case, so they are aware the forms are being completed on his behalf and there are no legal implications to myself. They concurred there was no advice or guidelines and I have requested that they do so. Since it is not just those with learning disabilities, but also those with physical disabilities too that may have difficulties completing the form since there is no electronic format.5
