If your account with Santander is relatively new and without a consistent payment history

I imagine the multiple payments on the same day must have raised warning flags.

Taking into account the above, I think Santander have done the right thing. It looks suspicious, even though it isn't.
If it had turned out it was part of some fraud, then they would have been on the hook for not blocking it.

True but, after half and hour on the phone, I managed to get them to unblock and then, after multiple checks, they sent one further £10k FP.  I still have 2 more payments I wish to make.  Tried this morning, and once again, they have blocked my account - so another round of calls to them.  Fortunately, they still have an 0800 number although this is soon to be withdrawn.  I definitely can't bank with Santander. I know it's to do with people who try to claim money back for their stupidity (including lying to the bank about transfers) but it still makes banking very difficult for those who can manage their money and wouldn't blame someone else if they did something dumb

If you have a registered phone number with them they should call you. Wait times can be long - best time to phone is just after 8am can usually get through quickly.

Thanks, I'm trying to make payment to Al Rayan - don't know if that's the trigger.  They agreed to make one 10k FP for me but I can't do it myself. Might have to make a standard payment for balance on Monday; once I get my account unblocked AGAIN Grrrr.
