Santander Blocked Account

I was in the process of transferring funds from Santander Esaver to Al Rayan and Cynergy via multiples of Faster payments to get same day value. Santander has decided to block account and wants me to phone on their 03330 account to unblock it. I'm fuming as I've never had this problem before. I'm also attempting to switch to Club Lloyds but apparently there's a problem with that as well - probably due to Santander. Only just opened Santander accs a few weeks ago so really regret doing so. Does anyone know if I wait a day, the 'transfer limit' will be reset without me having jump through hoops via an expensive PAYG phone call. It's my blinking money!

Once the account's been blocked then you'll need to phone them to unblock it, but do so via one of their freephone numbers if your call package doesn't include 03n numbers.1

The direct number to the fraud team is 0800 15153151.1

They won't unblock it without a phone call. I get this all the time also, painful but part of their anti-fraud automatic processes. Pretty much every bank has them, and I have friends/family getting similar (payments blocked and only unblocked with phone call or visit to branch) at all the major banks.1

Was this blocked for an existing payee? What a palaver!1

I imagine the multiple payments on the same day must have raised warning flags.0

If your account with Santander is relatively new and without a consistent payment history I am not surprised they have blocked your account.
I had my 123 account blocked whilst out of the UK, now that was an expensive call to get it sorted !1 -
OP, can you confirm that the account has been blocked, not just the payment?

same happened to me, 1st payment out of the account, got a message to phone support, on the phone for 20mins, then got told to go to branch with ID. which i did, and was unblocked straight away, small pain but all good now...

I have the same problem. I sent a complaint letter to Santander and got £50. Certain accounts seem to trigger it. They don't like investec. If you have a registered phone number with them they should call you. Wait times can be long - best time to phone is just after 8am can usually get through quickly.1
