  • Oops, AAZ - I think I got the wrong pipe where the motorised valve will be. Can you trace where this yellow-arrowed pipe goes?

Hopefully you'll find where three motorised valves are installed, along with a rectangular wiring centre with LOTS of cables going to it.
There will almost certainly be some wiring required, tho' it's possible it can be done by unclipping what you have, and fitting the new receivers straight on.
But I doubt it, because you have two zones and the DHW to control.
It could be done if you were happy to leave the DHW being controlled by that existing timer, but Hive, at least, will control both CH and DHW, and to not have both being 'Smart' would be, er, stoopid.

The two receivers you showed before - where are these located? Aren't the motorised valves and wiring centre in that same location?

I hope/think that the Danfoss uses the standard UK plate in which case it should not be too hard to swap it for the new smart stat hub (Drayton Wiser or Hive probably the easiest).

Possibly a bit more awkward, tho', as that Danfoss will be timing the DHW (that's fine), but then presumably sending another timed signal for the CH which will be going to TWO receivers, as there are two zones. If one, say, Hive receiver was placed there, it would have control over the DHW, yes, but sending out its CH signal to two zones.

I can't see a way of using just TWO Prog Stats and TWO receivers (one stat also doing the DHW) without some rewiring.

You 'could' keep the Danfoss in place doing DHW timings, and have the CH side of it permanently on, and then fit the two CH receivers where the two current ones are - that should work, but the OP would lose the feature of also having Smart DHW control. Possibly not an issue.

If AAZ could confirm that the two existing receivers - the Siemens and the whatsit - are both 'standard' backplate, then a couple of Hives or similar could theoretically be DIY-popped into place there.

If you use the Drayton Wiser kit 3 (multi-zone) it should be able to do it afaik. This is one advantage of Wiser (or Tado) over Hive & Nest as you don't need 1 receiver per thermostat. (Tado doesn't use the UK standard backplate though).

The Siemens RCR is not UK standard backplate but it is acting just as a sender/receiver for the RDH thermostat so in a Wiser/Tado setup you would just replace the Danfoss with the hub, bin the Honeywell & Siemens receiver/wireles 'stat combos& replace with individual wireless 'stats.
