Private Parking Fines - Advice Please for a Newbie

Hi, I'm new here and have been trying to work my around all of the different posts available.  My daughter has received 4 parking fines for one car park and one for another.  The 4 for the same car park she paid the wrong code online, and the other car park she overstayed her payment by 30 mins.

We have appealed them all and the appeals have been rejected.  Am I right in saying that I should just ignore them and not make payment?  She is a student who has just moved down south and also hasn't been driving that long.  We've given her a huge telling off about it, but just want to know do we cut our losses and pay them all or ignore them.

Thanks in advance for any help :)

    Paid the wrong site code?

We've given her a huge telling off about it,
But why would you do that? She's done nothing wrong except misread or not noticed some tiny, deliberately hidden signs.

These are not fines. This isn't her fault.

The parking industry is rotten and set motorists up to fail.  You know the Government is stepping in to finally regulate these sharks?

You've read NEWBIES PLEASE READ THESE FAQS FIRST we assume, and know whether it's a BPA or an IPC operator?

Which PPC?  (Acronyms in the NEWBIES thread).

  • Thank you @Coupon-mad, I've been following your advice on various threads!  4 of them are with SIP who are governed by IAS and 1 is Group Nexus governed by POPLA.

I'm waiting for a response to the appeal from Group Nexus, but SIP have declined the appeal.

I'm worried that by appealing we've admitted liability - wish I'd found this site and advice first :(

Do you recommend we just ignore now and see what happens?  Thank you so much for your guidance on this

I really hope you haven't gone and told Group Nexus who was driving?

Can you check something for us please? Group Nexus have been caught allegedly lying on NTKs about the 'date of the notice'.  Please go online to look at the PCN details held.  Does the date of notice issue match, or not?

  • The date of violation was 18th Oct and date of notice was 31st Oct.  Online thr violation date is correct and there is no date of notice?

I didn't state explicitly who was driving but did day she had paid the £1 parking fee but had stayed over 2 hours in error

Does this mean there is nothing more I can do with this one?

Are you appealing these charges?  In whose name are the charges issued?  Who is the registered keeper of the vehicle?
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

There is.  It gives a date and time; they might call it the PCN issue date or something.  Please tell us, does it match?

  • I visited parkingchargepayment.com abd entered the detaiks.  It doesn't have a PCN issue date.  It just shows date of violation and the PCN number?   As below
  • I was appealing them on behalf of my daughter.  The PCN is in her name and has been posted here but she's away at Uni!

That's not the page I mean.   It's one that says 'please check that the details below are correct' and is probably the page that shows when you go as if to appeal, not pay.

    It calls it 'date issued'.

  • Ah OK.  I've been back to the appeals page and it won't let me proceed as it states I've already logged an appeal!
