Air Source Heat Pump Question

Hi,
We've had our Air Source Heat pump just over a year now, it's been working OK.
I have heard that these have an expected lifespan of about 10 years - does this mean I would then need to reinstall a completely new system or would the old one be repairable? It seems like a lot of money to pay out (ours was around £13k) every 10 years, is there a component that tends to go wrong?
We are having ours serviced annually, is this likely to extend the lifespan?
Thanks,
David

An ASHP does not in itself cost £13k. You can buy them through Screwfix, for example, if you want to look at prices: https://www.screwfix.com/c/heating-plumbing/heat-pumps/cat14210001?brand=samsung - and those all include a hot water cylinder that you would not need to replace. So the worst case scenario is that you replace the heat pump and perhaps the controller. That should not involve too much labour.
The Government's vision for the future is that everyone will replace their gas boiler with a heat pump, heat pumps will be sold in large volumes and so be a lot cheaper in ten years time than they are today.
The ten year lifespan is only an estimate but probably presumes that the heat pump is serviced at the necessary frequency.Reed1
