Erm... I think that is what I already saidWillPS said:Katiehound said:Halifax certainly does not need 2 x DDs
(Club Lloyds & BOS vantage do)
Don't forget that many Council Tax are taken as 10 payments - which messes up the system if you need 12! But you can ask them to change mandate to 12 payments
I also have a couple of extra CCs. If needed I spend a small amount on one or two of them every month
Ecology BS takes a good while to set up
Every council will offer 12 monthly instalments as a payment option, you might have to ask them to change you over to it however.
My council rather likes to have 10 payments- presumably they get a smidgen more interest in their bank account!!Being polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything!

If you found my posting helpful please hit the "Thanks" button! Many thanks(Apologies for skim reading. The other point you didn't quote is still relevant.)1 -
and so.. where was I rude?
That is your implication
I was quite polite.
Just to say that the default setting on my local council bill always seemed to revert to 10 payments until some kind soul in their finance dept.told me that could be over ridden: each year I had to phone them to get it changed to 12 payments.
The offer of 12 payments was buried in the very tiny print.
They hope you won't notice.

Mine stays set to 12 payments, but if you go through their web site to enter new bank details then the default for the drop down is 10 payments.Katiehound said:Just to say that the default setting on my local council bill always seemed to revert to 10 payments until some kind soul in their finance dept.told me that could be over ridden: each year I had to phone them to get it changed to 12 payments.

So... will the BM DDs currently in existence remain 'active' ie quaifiers for switches, even after BM stop taking them?0
-
I would think so, particularly as they will have been active very recently.soulsaver said:So... will the BM DDs currently in existence remain 'active' ie quaifiers for switches, even after BM stop taking them?BM has never had the most reliable DD processes, as some of us found when we switched accounts containing them & were hit with ‘double dipping’😏. I very much doubt the DDs will be cancelled at their end.Try it?0 -

It was more curiosity really.
My 'dead' PO ones are still listed on many accounts... as are my Tesco ones from back then.
I would test it, but fortunately for me, I have good resources for DDs, so I don't risk it; I do the switches with 'paid' DDs.0
