Incorrect time on Parking Charge Notice letter

  • In the link posted above, you recommended that the person in the same situation as me:
    >>And to get this investigated, immediately report them to Sara Roberts, BPA's Head of AOS and head it up FORMAL COMPLAINT, attaching a copy of the PCN.

It seems that emailing Ms. Roberts was successful for this poster. I don't know if they also used Eternity's appeal process online.

Should I email Ms. Roberts and also appeal through Eternity's own appeal website (using the advice in Newbie thread)?

If so, do I need to attach evidence to this initial appeal, or just mention it and keep the actual evidence for any potential POPLA appeal?

    Thank you!

If your employer can prove you were there ( clock records etc) then I would try and get that evidence anyway. Not only to get rid of the PCN but also to give evidential weight to your complaint.

It would beg the question of how and why are the BPA allowing this operator to get away with this.

  • I sent an appeal and they accepted it in less than an hour.

I also found reports on facebook of other people who had the same issue, but had their appeals accepted also.

I will put through a BPA complaint - hopefully they will take this one more seriously than the one in the other post, as it is clearly a recurring issue.

Please put through a BPA Complaint to Sara R in exactly the words I told you (including the fact that the good folk on MSE are watching, and quoting the other person's BPA Complaint ref, as I said on that other thread in my reply to you) and ask for an assurance that refunds are now being made because you are taking this to the papers and your MP, and Trading Standards if this rogue firm are not stopped.

Don't forget to tell your MP about this scam and ask them to forward it to the MP where the alleged event took place if different to yours.

I received a parking charge letter from Eternity Fire & Security Ltd, about a stay in Park Tawe car park, Swansea on 26th October.

It includes pictures of my car entering and exiting the car park - however, the entry time is incorrect - it says 16:27 but it was after 5pm when I arrived. The exit time seems to be correct.

Based on the correct times, I did not overstay the 2hr limit.

I can see in their little thumbnail photo of my car entering the car park, that at the bottom of their screen it did say 16.27 - but I was not there at this time.

Should this be handled any differently to the details laid out in the Newbie thread?

Ive just received almost the exact same thing from the same place but on the 23th oct. Saying we arrived at 11.57 which is about an hour earlier than stated time. Could you possibly contact me as ive emailed bpa and want to make a case against them. Or any info how you progressed?

Happy to take this up with the BPA on behalf of one or several of you.  Needs stopping and refunds issued.  I want to also refer this systemic failure to the DVLA.

Send me a pm if you want your case included in the complaint I am keen to do about this scam.

@parking1 please send those on FB my way (but they'd have to pm me here as I don't use FB).  I want to have lots of evidence, even from people whose PCN was cancelled please (including yours).

If anyone already has a BPA Complaint in, please also tell me your BPA Complaint ref so I can pull them all together into a compelling group complaint the BPA can't say is a one-off.

Calling also @Cashmeout93 as this potentially fraudulent ANPR farce is making me fume with anger, given this extremely weak BPA response, a month ago:

Cashmeout93 said: Gosh - you guys are good! update:
I had an email back from BPA.

They contacted the provider who reviewed their data and there was a ‘synchronisation’ error upon my vehicle entering the car park. In this instance the camera seems to have lost the time sand therefore the wrong time stamp has been added to your parking charge notice. The data for the rest of the day has been reviewed and it appears to be a one off error. The operator will look to see what they can do to avoid this in the future. They’ve received no other complaints.

  • Hi @Coupon-mad ive dropped you a message. Once I recieve a reply i will let message you again. If they are indeed backtiming arrival times this is a breach of the GDPR and they are obtaining keeper information from the DVLA fraudulently
