Incorrect time on Parking Charge Notice letter

I received a parking charge letter from Eternity Fire & Security Ltd, about a stay in Park Tawe car park, Swansea on 26th October.

It includes pictures of my car entering and exiting the car park - however, the entry time is incorrect - it says 16:27 but it was after 5pm when I arrived. The exit time seems to be correct.

Based on the correct times, I did not overstay the 2hr limit.

I can see in their little thumbnail photo of my car entering the car park, that at the bottom of their screen it did say 16.27 - but I was not there at this time.

Should this be handled any differently to the details laid out in the Newbie thread?

No as guessed you do the newbies appeal
  • I've read a large chunk of the Newbie's thread, but it is a lot of information.

    What I haven't found is:

     - is there any estimate about how much time/effort the appeals process takes? Do you have to go to court if they reject the initial appeal?

As horrible as it is, I'm trying to weigh up the cost in time vs the cost of paying their £60 con!

Do you have Google location or dashcam footage? How are you certain the time is wrong?

    I believe you, BTW!

Is there any way that you can prove that you entered later? If so, I would add that fact to the newbies appeal.
The pen is mightier than the sword ..... and I have many pens.
  • I'm not sure I have any evidence, but I may be able to get footage of my car passing my place of work during the time they said I was in the car park.

A friend of mine was parked there at the same time. I'm waiting to find out if she has also gotten a letter. If so, maybe a glitch in their system. If not... well, then the conspiracy theories start.
  • On the back of the letter it says that is uses "the Independent Appeals Service (POPLA)" but from my reading I thought that IAS and POPLA were two different appeals bodies (with IAS less likely to uphold the appeal)

Well there is no need for conspiracy theories.  The times on PPC photos has been fraudulently changed before:

I don't have GPS or dashcam.

I could get a letter from work stating that I was in work until 5. I can show my only purchase at Costa in parc tawe after 5 - but that doesn't really prove that I wasn't there earlier.

Does the evidence itself get included in the companies initial online appeal procedure (before POPLA) or just mention that I have it?

    Do you have a smartphone?
    Do you use Google maps?

Yes to both, but I don't always leave location on, and location history seems to be off on my phone. I'll check more thoroughly later.

Also, just found this thread - same problem, same carpark, a few months ago
