    hi broke mum of three,
hope you enjoyed your holiday, agree about the food thing, eating out is so expensive when you have a few kids in tow, and the worst bit is paying for the drinks with the meals, total rip off.Even if you are catering in caravan you don't have all your storecupboard bits and pieces with you so end up spending more.
    Reduce,re-use, recycle.

  • We often go away for weekends in our caravan
I make up a few meals in advance like a shepherds pie or lasagne etc then we just need to add something to it to make a meal and not spend holiday time/money in the shops

I guess it only works short periods and self catering hols we can do a 2 night weekend now for £50 for 4 of us

We pack up lunch for the days we are out and do nature/outdoors stuff instead of paying for attractions

The best £5 month we pay is to RSPB(used cashback site too)the parking alone at some reserves is more than this the season ticket is for the 4 of us too,we dont smoke or go out we make our own wine(got it down to about 50p a bottle) so this is our one luxury

Went to the gym this evening, so that's MORE added on to my total! Have got to be careful.. it's being spent way too quickly! I'll work out tomorrow what my monthly totals are, though they're going to be shocking. Need to go to Boots tomorrow to stock up on some things, so that'll be more going on to my total - it never ends!!

Janey51 I love the idea of putting £5 away when you use your mr M voucher I think I will do that. We have four cards on the go and I let them fill up to about 4700 points then put each one in the back of my purse . I then juggle them till I get the vouchers within a short time of each other which gives me £20 to spend.

Good evening, just popping in to catch up before the weekend is completely gone. I've spent most of the day and all night at the computer doing accounts so I can get everything filed and away as soon as possible. It has taken hours to go through stuff like online sales and commissions despite the overall amounts being minimal and it's amazing how much I spent in the online auctions last year! Still haven't split personal spending from business spending but I'm still shocked how quickly all those little purchases mounted up into gundreds of pounds then almost panicked when it broke through the £1000 mark!

Stopping now, as I think I have done quite enough number crunching for a weekend. I'll need to catch up with all the posts tomorrow and then THAT'S IT! THE FIRST QUARTER IS OVER and I THINK most of us are still here. New thread time, see you all there. :T :T :T

Looby-loo with three hungry teens and a nursing cat to feed I think your food budget is really good.Especially if it includes food parcels to take back to uni as well:T

The food parcels will come out of Aprils budget.

I was supposed to visit my mum this pm, well take the children for a visit, but I couldn't start the car so I planted veg seeds instead. Earlier for lunch I cooked an organic, free range turkey which I had bought reduced at Christmas £30.27 down to £7.38 and picked broccoli fom the garden. Also home made cranberry sauce made from bags reduced to 10p at New Year. For pud an apple crumble made from the very, very last of last autumns cooking apples. Does anyone have rhubarb yet? Mine is 4" tall which is early for March here.

Well done to everyone who has quit smoking.
