Hi everyone,
Just finished dishing up the roast for the oldies, everyone fed and watered and happy chatting downstairs:D
Jay1- No laughing but pony is called Nigel  Why would you name a horse Nigel?? Oh well:rolleyes: Her other pony is called Gem, he is loaned to DD so she has two to take care of now, which will keep her out of mischief.
Nyk - DGD would love a little pony to ride I'm sure, DD started around that age.My isa savings have taken a little bashing with the loan to DD for pony but sometimes you have to make a sacrifice;) , will only be about 4 months lost interest.
Slowlyfading - Enjoy the new lap top, mine died last year and I had to buy a new one but they really are good value for money now.
mumzy- Hi, just having a chilling out day, been up to stables doing some drilling, cooking for oldies, pootling about house:D not much else:D . Hows the no smoking going?
Looby- loo- with three hungry teens and a nursing cat to feed I think your food budget is really good.Especially if it includes food parcels to take back to uni as well:T
georgiasmum- good luck for April0 -
Just got back from Brighton about an hour ago and now the big man Zacc is curled up on my lap (that'll be an oversized cat rather than a large person) so not only is it light enough for no electricity :T but he's also keeping me toasty enough not to need the heating on yet (I may need to stop including cat food in the GC and allocate it to heating costs
).
Sophiesmum, I'm impressed with your DD too, how old is she? Great frugal work to get a pony, may need a Pony Purchasing masterclass from her one day.
Slowlyfading, great to see you on such good form ,despite the laptop, so glad you stuck around.
One-hand typing is taking it out of me so I'm off for a quality cuddle and will be back later. My first quarter is over so I'll do my books tomorrow and let you know...
NIGEL???!!! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:I can laugh because I had a boyfriend called Nigel once...:o...but a horse?:rotfl:

Bails I'm jealous, I used to live in Brighton but I haven't been back for ages! I miss it, but I found day to day life was very expensive.
I did meet up with my bf, but took a home made picnic and went to a park. Only ended up paying for parking! Much better than usual. I need to update my spending for this week, but I can't find my receipts. Until this challenge I didn't even keep themNow I can't remember the obvious and sensible place that I put them...

Hi Bails, DD is 16 and would rather have a pony than a boyfriend, which is fine by me;)
I put her in charge of managing her own monthly allowance recently and can't believe the change it has had on her attitude towards money. The first month she blew the lot in a few days but once she realised she wasn't being baled out anymore she soon wised up financially:D Now she is even saving:eek:0 -
Way to go Sophiesmum's DD (Sophie by any chance?) :T:T Learning the value of money from a young age is such an important life skill, something I'm particularly grateful to my own parents for.
It's still light peeps... :jThe 1,000 Day Challenge:Feb 16, 2016500/30,000

Hi everyone I havent been on in over a week. My kids are off school and I have been in my brother's caravan for a week. Spends were not too bad although I havent totalled it all up yet for March. Just home from Dublin Zoo today, had a fab time, stayed overnight last night in a Travelodge but cut the tokens off the Frosties box and got two kids in free!:j
Its easy to be frugal with most things but buying food when you are not at home is like fighting a losing battle:mad: everything is just so expensive!Live on a little over £4k challenge
