Fizzel, good to hear from you, I am full of admiration for you, you're doing fantstically well!
Whitewing, good luck, at least all the practising is lots of fun!;)
Just committed to getting all my levels retested for my illness - £225! Then I'll need to stock up on meds, going to cost me a fortune. Still, there is nothing more important, and I can't be financially independent without it. It really hurts parting with all that money though
Off to stroke my kitten for some free entertainmentHave a great day everyone.

We have another beautiful day - cold and frosty, but very sunny.
Did anyone else spot the next hot deal offer of free lightbulbs and power down switch?
It's at http://www.eonenergy.com/At-Home/ - just go to the section on site about 'benefits' and if you are claiming any of them (they include working tax credits) then you can claim your freebies. Similar offers should be available from most, if not all, of the power supply companies by now, I'd have thought.
Janey - BILLY in in your freezer??? And did you need to use that other phrase? 'It's a trifle nippy this morning'... arg! Now I want to make another trifle!! :rotfl: I even have all the ingredients.
FunBrum - :j A trip to the seaside! Decorate your tin with pebbles and shells - representing rocky starts, shelling out for stuff and, at the same time, setting it out in stone :rotfl: What a fab idea! :T I'm going to organise a trip to the beach, freeze my err, you know what I mean, and collect pebbles & shells to decorate my Billy Can.... a FREE work of art - thank you for inspiring me. (Must remember that removing items from a beach is, apparently, illegal. Must remember to stay within the tideline, then it's classed as beach combing)
Frizzel, I am so glad to hear that you have found another house in time. I'm sure your frugal skills will soon make it into something your can live with. You are doing really, really well with the savings and don't worry about your sig on here, we'll all still be here when you get back, eagerly awaiting your updates :T
Whitewing, you had me in stitches!! "MIL is still smiley and nice. She can't speak English which is probably why we're getting on so well!" :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: And trying for a baby with the MIL staying?
DFW - I think you are doing really well with your spending cuts! For a start, you appear to have said good riddance to over 40% of your overall debt! Well done! Secondly, you are well within the 333.33 so far this month :T
Back later, I've been trying to type this up for ages in an email for copy/pasting. Must have lunch and then get to the postie. Still haven't beenI reserve the right not to spend.

He, he.. yes, I thought there would be no shenanigans with MIL here, particularly as DS is in our room! However, it is half term so we bribed him to go to the lounge with the playstation! And we were extremely quiet, lol.
MIL wants grandchildren so she is on our side!
OH is disgruntled that you are all wishing me luck; he says he's the one who needs it...:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0 -
There, how's that? :rotfl:
Or maybe I should be asking....
ARE YOU MAD?????????
:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: Mine still cost me money and they have started multiplying into the next generation! I think we should be entitled to Grandchild Benefit
Bails - Sorry to hear about your illness, but... you need to pay for the tests to be done? That's scandalous! What if you really couldn't afford to pay? This part, however, gave me a laugh:"Off to stroke my kitten for some free entertainment".I reserve the right not to spend.

Haha, I was thinking it was pretty impressive to be 'making babies' with MiL there, but then if she's going to stay for months... Good luck Whitewing's OH!
Sadly Nyk, there's almost no help on the NHS (especially from my dr) so I have no choice. I can't sit here and wait another 25 years for a possible solution... Luckily I was saving for a round-the-world trip before I became ill so I am using that money .
I was reading an article posted on another thread that said 'Almost one in five workers spend their entire monthly salary in the first week.' Then I read this: '
Those in the North-East are the quickest to put their hands into their pockets, according to the research.
A quarter will spend their wages within a week of being paid and an astonishing 8 per cent get through the lot on pay day.':eek: Here's the full article is you're interested.
I have a (ex) friend who's 27 and has to have his wages paid directly to his parents - they pay all his bills etc and put £20 into his account twice a week. He still goes into his overdraft and incurs charges every week. I understand his parents think they're helping him but in fact they're doing exactly the opposite. How will he ever learn? I tried to help him loads but in the end I had to stop as I was getting nowhere.
On a different note, I saved the seeds from my peppers last night :j- can anyone tell me what I need to do next please? I'll head over to the gardening forums later but I had a feeling someone else was trying this, Nyk maybe? Thanks.

Best of luck to everyone - sounds as if most of us are doing well. My finances are being firmly ignored at the moment *blush*
aaaaaaaanyway, I got a freebie again today - invited to be in the audience at a food programme filming in London. Unfortunately [well, from a travelling point of view only!] we live in mid-Wales - so, anyone in London got any ideas where we can park a car safely for Wednesday - yes, that's the day after tomorrow! - all day. We need to be in north London by 8.30am and won't be leaving, possibly, until 8.30pm so it's a long old stay and I really don't want to leave my nice new [to me] car in Vandal Alley all day or pay Mr NCP squillions and still possibly get it done over!
If anyone has any ideas on cheaper travel then I'd be very grateful.
I just feel all cheerful and happy - not only was Janey's posting very encouraging, but also I looked outside and grinned at the view. I think Frugal Millionaire Syndrome is kicking in wholeheartedly here at FM MansionsEven on our *honeymoon* DH and I were admiring the hotel and then looked at each other and said "but I'd rather be at home!" as it reinforced how lucky we are to live where we do. Anyone else get that feeling?
thanks to everyone

I've just telepathically 'willed' a very small amount of double cream to whip up into loads - and it seemed to work!!! I had about 100ml left in a tub and I have done Eton Mess for tonight (after corned beef hash pie!). It's all whipped and mixed with the strawberries and meringues in the fridge in 2 dishes for tonight - perfect sized portions. The pre-frugal me would have gone to the shop, bought a small tub and done all of it plus the bit I already had and there would have been too much but we would have eaten it anyway (and felt very sick afterwards!!)
It means I should have a NSD today!"Stay Wonky":D
