oooh, what's Marmalade tray bake Janey?
I have to admit that DH felt the need to sample several pieces to make sure it is aceptable to offer to his friend. Regrettably, I had to do the same and it is not a good idea when you have had weight loss surgery so I am feeling a bit sorry for myself.0 -

CharliesAngel I admire your ingenuity with that menu but all those eggs with bananas and beans PLUS white bread won't it (ahem) upset your 'regularity' ? :rotfl:

Shhh! Sneaked on here.
MIL has arrived - she's great. She seems very smiley and young at heart. She apparently has a great leather jacket that DS thinks makes her look like a cool rock chick! I think it's going to be all right. Anyway, can't be any worse than the last one, lol.
Must dash now..............

CA...you have got me thinking there. When its cold, do we really need to have a fridge? We could put all the food outside. What a saving! In fact, its so cold in my house that getting the thermometer to register 16C has us throwing off our clothes and gasping for air.
I find 'forgetting' your tesco shopping after chasing cats/kids and leaving it on the porch floor works quite well....Proud to have dealt with with my debts

Forgot to say earlier, my 'Hungry Hippos' game arrived today, courtesy of iPoints. It was despatched straight from Firebox, so if anyone gets anything delivered from there, please rake right to the bottom of the box beneath their excessive packaging - there's a small catalogue with money off voucher and a packet of sweets! :T err... I should have kept the sweets to add into a pressie, pergaps, but umm... I ate themNever mind, the game is another pressie into the pressie cupboard and I still haven't done an inventory!
Tomorrow I must finish making the cheerleader pompoms, as the 'High School Musical - How to stage your own show' pressie has to be posted on Monday. I'm thinking of as much as possible to do so I don't go to the shop. I want just one more NSD and that's me caught up to a 50:50 ration. I wonder how low I can go? :rotfl: Now that I have hit a 1 in 2, could I make it to 1 in 3? 1 in 4? 1 in 5?
How obsessive does frugaling make you? I'm even planning FAR ahead now and was sitting looking at my quit smoking savings balance today, which is safely stashed in YET ANOTHER new account! I kept thinking of free range eggs, home grown fruit and veggies! So, I have decided that the quit smoking account is dedicated to the longterm - saving for my 'good life' start-up pack once I have my own house and space to start it up. It could take some time, but if I never smoke again and ALWAYS bank what I'm not smoking... that could be a really good 'nest egg'
PS: In case anyone noticed my house challenge change, I upped the 57,100 to 60,000 to incorporate an eco-friendly heating systemI reserve the right not to spend.
The less I spend, the more I can afford.

Good morning fellow frugalites.
It looks as if it has been snowing outside this morning because of the frost.
Last night, I poked my nose out of the door and the moon was beautiful. Everything looked as if it was dusted with silver.
Now, you can't put a price on that :T
This challenge is making me stand still and take stock of what is really important.
I was in bed, all cosy in soapnut fresh flannelete sheets with DH snoring happily away and thinking how lucky I am.
I have a wonderful husband who can cook and massages my feet.:D
My kids are great, married to lovely wives.
My Mum is a few miles down the road and not bad for a 79 yr old.
I have good friends who would do anything for me.
I have my finances under control.
My new car is a dream.
I have left a job I've been unhappy in for years.
I survived a major house fire.
I love my dentist.
I've got shed loads of pots to put my free seeds in.
I got a £5 Mars voucher and a £10 seeds voucher.
All I need to complete my life is some cheap pear trees :rotfl:0 -
Nyk well done on your inch loss. And I really admire your crafty skills with presents. I have to say that I have made hampers for a few people for the last 2 Christmases and they were voted favourite presents.
CA only problem with leaving food outside might be the cats. One of ours can smell cheese a mile away.
whitewing MIL sounds lovely. We will need regular bulletins to make sure no hidden vices appear.
Jumble free food! Our Lidl is an hour away but I could always do a tour of all the supermarkets about to close at the same time. Any idea what time of day Lidl put the food out?
Forgot to say, spent £2.86 yesterday so not bad.0
