  • Hi all just wanted to ask what the Bite card is re eating at train stations? My company sells ethical charity water that we hope will soon be on sale at train stations all across the country and I may be able to get us listed with the Bite card promotion?

Hi eagerLearner and Looby Lou :)

www.bitecard.co.uk for the Bite card -it's just a basic discount card that gets you 20% off when purchasing food/drink from certain outlets in railway startions. Handy to have and free to get one :)

Looby Lou, we are sure to be here next year, so take your time with the practice run and feel free to post here as a proxy frugaler :)

CharliesAngel you've been spying on our pheasants haven't you

What is this fixation with knickers? It must be an English thing. As everyone knows we wear kilts North of the Border and we are tough, very tough so require no extra protection of our nether regions unless riding a haggis.

    Hello fellow frugalites!
Crikey I leave you to your own devices for just a couple of days and come back to find you're all nattering about nuns in thongs [how do you know they're nuns...is it because they're still wearing their wimples:eek: Oh don't my imagination has gone into feverish overdrive:D ] Perhaps I need to backtrack a few pages and make sure I haven't got the wrong end of the stick! For frugalites with gnat bottom spending habits like mine and an ironing board frontage I splash out and spend £2.50 on the all cotton bras you get in Wilkinsons. Yes you don't need to tell me that I'm nothing if not a classy chick:D
The latest update on the gnat bottom stakes is that much to my horror OH has gained ground and overtaken me..I knew it was a mistake to draw his attention to the ISA rate section as he now tells me we're also having a new online savings account courtesy of :money: recommendation that will net a further £300pa on our savings..a very useful cash injection for our modest little budget:j Never fear though frugalites I will outfrugal him in the Valentine's challenge I am sure. We romantically set an upper limit of £1 for anything Valentine's related and he's proudly told me that he hasn't broken the £1 barrier because he's found a suitable specimen in Wilko [actually sometimes I think I spend more of my day in that shop than I do at home] I have however gone one better and made him one from my wombled craft goodies and on top of that I have splashed out 60p yes 60p on a red plastic heart that I have filled with value after 8 type mints from Mr T [take my word for it those of you not on the frugal health challenge they are deleesh...a tip pinched off the OS board]. You have to understand that sadly OH and I don't have a romantic bone in our body between us...when romance was being handed out I was in the queue for wine and nibbles and he was lining up for chocolate. Now you can't say I don't treat him can you...mind you my hand still aches from having to part with real coins. I swear my purse has Venus Fly Trap tendencies in reverse...every time you prise it open to try and remove any money nowadays it snaps shut as if fastened with elastic.

Keep up the fab posts...I come here to get my daily dose of chuckles as well as new tips to reduce my spending.

Today has been a good and bad frugalling experience.

    Got my free lightbulbs.:j

Friend bought me lunch :j Lots of people want to feed me now I'm thin. Is it because I'm cheap to feed or are they trying to fatten me up

The faggots I made were   So disappointed :( As I eat so little now my taste buds are obviously hyper-sensitive because all I could taste was the liver ...yuk
DH liked them which is just as well as there are another 19 to eat :rotfl:

Booked flights for us both to go to see my sister in June..£140.48 all in which is pretty good. This (plus rest of holiday costs) is already budgeted for.

hey, when did I get a star? is it for all my charitable knicker efforts? :D

I got one today too, could it be for my combination of frugal recycling and exercising ?:j

Just a thought, if we do too well on the frugal fitness challenge we may need to spend the knicker stooze fund sooner than we expected!
