Well done on the NSD

When doing your surveys, there's usually boxes to tick or untick depending if you want further offers sent. Just make sure you tick or untick in the right places and you should be OK :)

Thanks! How do I thank people properly, like everybody else is doing? I can't see what to click....

Oh, the cheque is already banked, don't you worry about that!:D I double checked the other day and we only made 2 DD payments to them (£60 total but £37 odd refunded). I've kept all the paperwork too.
Redgla,, here's a thanks button in the bottom right had corner of each post, just click on that.
Finally caught up with everyone but no time to post more as OH just back so well done to everyone! I'll update sig tomorrow and hopefully be around a bit more. Good luck for the coming week everyone, and thanks for all the fab ideas (growing soapnuts, yippee! :D) x
Oh Liuhut, just saw your post - don't be down honey, it is the first month asn we're all just finding our feet. Things will even themselves out over the year, just readjust your weekly total and go from there. Is there anything you can do to play catch up? Good luck, we'll help you so don't be sad!

I'm something similiar liuhut as regards food etc, I dont do the lottery any more, cancelled my Sky just have freeview, your Christmas pressies will come in handy at the end of the year budget, I cant count petrol in this budget otherwise we couldnt eat, can you use family allowance for the childrens activities, I have separated FA to pay for swimming lessons, piano, football etc and any extras they need for school like dinners etc and I am not counting that in the challenge either as I feel it is their money and I am able to account for it better that way, hope this is of some help.

  • good idea with the school uniform but only buy the bits with badges on and the tie if you need one there. The other bits, shirts, trousers, skirts are much cheaper in Asda etc. You can get the shirts or polos for about £1 each, which is much cheaper. You can also get as many jumpers, ties etc as you want from the lost property at the end of term if you’re not too fussy.

No. i'm not fussy as long as they look good, unfortunately the polo shirts have the badge on them as well, so does the sweatshirt and they wear a sort of bomber jacket on top, no blazer. I'm thinking of getting three polos and three sweatshirts and then one jacket as I work on a wear one/wash one/spare one policy but I can't believe the prices £8.50 an item!

Trousers i'd get from Tesco as I don't have an asda near me and the pairs I bought him for nursey were waist adjustable and they still look as good as new after two years.

It is my five year old starting in August but he was deferred from starting last August when he should have, there is a slim possibility that my 4 year old will be starting in August as well as he is in preschool year but I'm hoping he'll be deferred too as I don't want them in the same school year.

If I wasn't in this challenge though I doubt I'd have had a spare fiver to even put in the school uniform fund so once again thanks to NYK and everyone else here who is keeping me going.:T

  • Liuhut: I'm over mine too, but I'm not going to fret, i've decided to use January as a test run, as i've itemised everything i've spent I can then be more aware of where money has been wasted and can improve on it. (That's the plan anyway)

My worst waste of money is Cab fares getting the boys to school nice and dry, be cheaper to get them waterproofs then we can walk no matter what the Scottish weather throws at us.

  • NSD for me today! :j Not had one of these since the first week and it feels very good :D

However, another £9 was spent yesterday... Not great but just within boundaries. I need to somehow make up £15 next week, I think by avoiding wine it'll help a lot!
