It just struck me (slow as ever
) that the people on the thread who are making £10 a day for a month, if they were to do it all year would make £3650. This is close(ish) to £4000 a year. If they could find an extra £350.00, and then keep spending down to £4000 a year, they could almost break even.:j Maybe next year, you could have a combined thread lol

carrott that sounds very interesting.
it would be quite hard work to make an EXTRA £10 a day when already working full time. for me not enough hours in the day im afraid but a brilliant idea for someone with time on their hands.0 -

Same here. I would have trouble making an extra 10p a day never mind £10. I'm amazed how brilliant people are on the other thread at making £10 a day.
I think I need to look first at where I can save money. I'd love to join this thread though if I ever get our budget sorted out. I know it shouldn't be hard but with all the things going on in my life at the moment, I'm finding it difficult.
I may try and join you all next month, however, I don't think realistically I can keep down to £333 a month. If it was just me, I probably could do it, however, my budget is tied up with my parents and our numerous cats. We have now started cooking almost from scratch thanks to inspiration from the old style board. (with a firm menu plan and some improvements - I think we can get the food budget under control) I need to sort out insurance's, mobiles, phone, broadband, contact lens etc. However, our family seem unable to keep the spending down- something urgent always crops up. Also, although my mum has never been so good - she HATES the word budget. I fear I'm in a losing battle.0 -

WOW...it's taken me an age to catch up!
Hasn't everyone been busy?!
I had to buy petrol yesturday which cost me £40:eek: But I do get my mileage paid by work, and that should be in my bank next friday.
I am soooooo pleased with myself:D Last night I popped into Morrisons at about 9.30 to look for bargains, and boy did I get some!
I bought, from the hot food counter:
2 meat and potato pies= 49p
4 chicken tikka legs=19p
1 garlic chicken breast=19p
4 garlic chicken legs= 19p
4 chicken drumsticks= 19p
A pork and bacon meatloaf(1LB)=19p
4 Fresh breaded ocean basa =70p
and salted cod fish=19p
TOTAL=£2.33:j
I've been in Morrisons at that time of night and had great bargains before, so might start going there at that time regularly and eat what they have on offer!;)
The food is wonderful quality and its not just pies, fish and hot stuff that is reduced. I hunt out the other sections and know exactly where to sniff out a bargain!:rotfl: :rotfl:
I love this frugal lark...it means I can pay off my loan  soooo much faster!
Keep up the good work folks. Loving this challenge and all of your posts.:TLiving a frugal retirement without treading on the planet :T

I spent £32.06 yesterday!
Most of it was unintentional. £2.30 for the train was all I was planning on spending but I ran out of phone credit so I had to top that up too. I topped up by £15 because I realised that I actually spend less if I top up by £15 than if I top up by £10 oddly enough. I was going to go straight home after my lecture but was feeling in the need of girly time so bought a bottle of wine, £4.89, and went to a friend's house with a few friends and ordered in pizza (£5.72 each). *sigh* It's the wine that is really killing my budget and I only go out once a week! Grrr. Then on my way back I had to stop off at the big T as DH had phoned to say we were out of milk and bread and that he wanted some cookies plus I had to get cat biscuits so that was another £4.15. Hmph. Hopefully will be a small spend day today and a NSD tomorrow as I'm going to my parents' house for lunch!
On a more positive note I got my first competition win ever today! A package arrived full of DMC Desire threads - 18 in very pretty colours from The World of Cross Stitching.
I go through phases of crafting, and I am currently out of my cross stitch phase and into my cardmaking phase so I'm in a dilema with the threads. One of my best friends is an avid cross stitcher and her birthday is coming up in Feb so I know the threads will get good use with her and not potentially rot with me (plus saving me a bundle and looking good in her gift basket) but they are so pretty and my first win that I'm finding it difficult to part with! Can someone give me a kick up my selfish butt please?~ Lexie ~The Minimoilist.Saving money and the planet at the same time.0 -

It's doable honey. I try to make the equivalent of £10 a day but on an "as and when" basis. I do bits and bobs when I can and most months it adds up to £310 a month or more.
I work 43 hours a week between my two jobs and I do mystery shopping, eBay, Amazon and babysitting etc in my free time.
I'm not saying it's always easy!I should be listing on eBay as we speak, but between Hubby taking to me and my general lack of motivation today so far it's just not happening!

just to say that although I am not posting much on this thread, I am still doing the challenge - receipts are being kept and are added up periodically. Daily got to be too much for me to cope with :rotfl:Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes.
